These power expansive bits give you a selection of drilling diameters from 22mm to 50mm without the expense of owning every individual size of bit. Made from Japanese tool steel, these bits will drill hardwoods and softwoods with ease and the lip and spur shape of the cutting head give a straight, smooth sided, flat bottomed finish to your drill hole. The spur in the centre of the bits keeps the drill bit on course and the sharp spur scores and cuts the wood for a tear free finish. Between the lip and spur, the sharp blade scrapes away the excess wood quickly and very efficiently.
The diameter is altered using a grub screw and allen key and an etched scale on the movable lip makes setting the diameter very simple. The expansive bit offers a drill depth of up to 100mm making it an ideal choice for carpenters for drilling newel posts, hinge recesses, door locks or any other large diameter, deep hole drilling task. The expansive bits can be used in a bench drill, hand power drill or lathe, we would recommend using on low speeds for best results. Great tool and much better than purchasing a cheap set of individual bits. The expansive bit is accurate and seems to be very well engineered - as are most tools made in Japan. Easy to change between diameters too. I highly recommend this product.
