These split ring depth stops will create precisely drilled holes at the exact depth that is required and can be used with a range of metric drill bits. The split ring design means the stop securely locks onto the bit with much greater clamping force than a traditional stop collar which works by just tightening a grub screw. This design also means that the stop will not wander during use to ensure your work is fully protected and it also ensure that the stop does not tilt because of vibrations caused by vibrations.
There is no damage to the drill bit as when the stop is tightened the force is applied evenly around its circumference, this is also superior to a traditional stop collar as with these stops the grub screw could easily work its way into the flutes of the drill bit and cause damage when tightened.

top quality and good idea for clamping tightly to drill bits

I purchased two sets of these, and both sets needed a fair amount of work to remove the swarf still remaining in the slots and on the inside surface, to bring them to a useable condition. On one, the 6mm drill bit wouldn't even begin to fit inside the collar until I had filed out the inside.
With this work done, I have to say they work well, and are a great improvement on the more usual type of stop collar.
I think that these are a good buy at the price, but be prepared to put in a bit of work.
