This premium aluminium hinge jig is simple to use and guarantees precise hinge alignment every time, eliminating any guesswork when installing 35mm concealed hinges to cabinet doors. There are four pre-set indexing stops that allow you to set the bit 3mm, 4mm, 5mm or 6mm from the edge of the door to suit all the popular types concealed hinges. A series of etched graduations allow you to precisely set and then lock off the drilling depth from 0 to 25mm. You then simply mark a centre line on your door which you align with the centre marker which is cast into the body of the of the jig.
The tungsten carbide forstner bit leaves clean, flat bottom holes in softwood, hardwood, composite woods and melamine faced woods and is kept vertical at all times, smoothly plunging, with spring assistance, though a steel guide bush. A 1/4" hex shank magnetised socket driver fits over the shank of the forstner bit, making the drilling process faster and more efficient.

I have used this hinge jig for just over a week now and it works perfectly. Saved so much time setting up. Bit leaves very clean holes and doesn't chip the edges. Need to make sure depth stop it tight. Would highly recommend as it simplifies fitting hinges and eliminates errors. Brilliant tool.

This really is a clever piece of kit. It's so simple to set up and when set up you can not go wrong. Just mark a line for the centre of the hinge and align with the pointer and drill. Best tool i have used in years.

Hinge jig itself seems well thought out, nice and compact and drill bit nice and sharp. The main fault and it's such an obvious and simple one being the clamp - its sharp and when clamped to a door eats into the wood. Even without much clamping force I end up with a circle on the underside that needs sanding out. Even worse for a finished door. Why not just put a rubber cover over it? Even on an unfinished door having to sand out a ring is one extra step that you could do without. For the price, given that it is more expensive than others I would have thought it could be included. Otherwise, it works and it's so quick I will just add a small square of 6mm mdf or rubber and carry on.

This hinge jig gave me peace of mind when cutting into some expensive doors. The tool feels like a high quality item as does the packaging, one gripe is that you have to fully wind in the material clamp to return the jig to its packaging (it makes for a nice storage case). Not yet adjusted the offset but plan to do this soon for another project with different door overlay requirements.
The cutter is very sharp and makes a nice clean hole in MDF, however be sure to regularly clear any debris as it can become clogged. Very pleased with this purchase.
