Product Details

This kit contains the R8562 Premium High Filtration Dust Collector, R8546 Power Tool Hose Kit and R8535 Stepped Adaptor which allows you to connect the industry standard 32mm power tool hose to the extractor's 102mm hose outlet. This premium high filtration dust collector will collect and filter dust particles down to 0.5 microns, in order to minimise the amount of harmful dust re-entering the workshop. It is purposely designed for use with fine dust producing machines and power tools such as routers, sanders, circular saws, bandsaws, planers and woodturning lathes.

With its three-stage filtration, dust is first filtered through a filter bag, then through a HEPA cartridge filter and finally through a fine gauze filter before the filtered air re-enters the workshop. Dust and shavings are collected in the base of the drum, requiring no costly collection bags and then simply emptied by unclipping the main lid. The 50 litre drum and motor housing are made from strong steel pressings, which are beautifully powder coated to withstand the knocks and bumps associated with a busy workshop. Powered by a quiet running 1100w motor, the extractor generates an impressive air flow rate of 53 litres per second to cope with high volumes of dust without the hose clogging.

The 1.7 metre x 102mm diameter hose is made from kink proof PVC, which is ribbed for strength yet is extremely flexible. Weighing only 10kg this extractor can comfortably be moved around the workshop or from site to site and can be stowed under a workbench as it measures 620mm in height by 400mm in diameter. This is consistently our most popular dust collector, which has proved itself in thousands of workshops, as it is economical to run without the need for collection bags, has excellent suction power and filters fine dust down to 0.5 micron. This premium dust collector planer has 3 year warranty and in the event that it fails due to a manufacturing defect, it or its components will be replaced free of charge.

A bit loud, but does the job, no more dust everywhere when using the bandsaw.
Would be nice if it came with a quick fit adapter so it can be sweapped from machine to machine more easily, but you pays your ,oney and all that.

I purchased the Rutlands dust extractor and found that it was very difficult to install the 100mm house to the vacuum outlet. This makes it impossible to make quick changes between machines. Only through research of my own I found that you can buy couplers to help to make change overs quicker, but at nearly £10 each it brings the price up a bit. I would also suggest that you would need 2 couplers for each end of the hose to make change overs even quicker.

I would also question the power of the vacuum if you are thinking of setting up a extraction system in your work shop. Has the vacuum got a enough power to suck any dust away through a ducting system over a few meters? I found that my stand alone Karcher vacuum cleaner has more power than the Rutlands machine.

Sorry for the poor feedback.

Pleased with the suction power it is quite loud but not as loud as most of the tools being used with it this is the first dust extractor i have brought so did not want to spend a fortune wish i had got one a long time ago only thing that let it down was the extra hose kit as does not fit any of my tools and had to spend another £30 on adaptors so would have been better off buying just the dust extractor without the extra hose photo is very misleading as it looks like it comes with lots of adaptors but all these are used to reduce the outlet size down from 100mm to 32mm with on left over to go on the other end of the hose total cost came out at £160 with extra adaptors.

I collected this new extractor from Bakewell this morning. Rutlands staff were actually unloading a massive container of them when I arrived. Having up-packed it and carried out the basic assembly I connected the hose to my old Elektra Beckum planer thicknesser. I set the planer to remove 1.5mm in one pass and pushed through some old softwood I had lying around. The extractor had ample power to draw the dust and shavings through the hose and into the drum. I repeated the process five times. Each time the planed softwood had a very fine finish finish with little or no dust on the surface. The fine dust was captured on the cartridge filter and the larger particles in the base of the drum. So far I am very impressed. Its very solid, reasonably quiet and very powerful.

I would have to say this represents the best value for money tool that I have ever bought. Quite how they can make it and sell it for this price is unbelievable. It works a treat either connected to my machines or when cleaning the workshop floor. Having 4" hose means that large off cuts can be sucked up without constant clogging. Absolutely brilliant

It's simple - just buy one. Great build quality, powerful suction and very cheap.

Heather Smith

Quick delivery, good build quality. looks like it will be a great addition to my workshop. Not had chance to give it lots of abuse yet but think it will be a great starter unit I can add to

AtotheZ

Awesome! I have had similar extractors but this one is way better and cheaper than those ones. The suction power is better and everything stays where it should be. The 2 meter hose is a great bonus as well! Only minus is it makes a lotta noise, but that is to be expected with these type of extractors . Cheers and thanks again from Amsterdam!

Warren Wright

Really pleased with this.I own the record equivalent of this which is the same machine to look at but double the price.one big difference tho is that this has about double the suction power.just fantastic especially at this price. It is a bit noisier tho but I don't find that a problem. Highly recommend it.

Tim Greenwood

I cannot fault this extractor, plenty of power. It's probably the best purchase I've made for my workshop

Jack

This extractor is great!
I read that it should be powerful enough for small 50mm ducting so I decided to get it. It has great suction (more than my Dyson!) and is made from great quality materials. The hose is also great as it self retracts. When I first turned it on I put my hand over the end and the hose squashed up and the extractor dragged itself across the floor! I can't see how you could get better quality and as a bonus it is a nice grey colour!

Neil Jeanes

Been looking for a good cost effective dust collector for some time and I certainly found it was this machine. More than powerful enough for my lathe work, taking the majority of chippings when positioned correctly as well as all of the dust, the workshop is certainly a cleaner place since this arrived! Only downside is that it is a bit noisier than others, but at the price I paid I can deal with that.
Would I recommend this to others?..............I certainly would.

Mr Paul Boam

Excellent product. I have spent the past 10 years taping vacuum hoses to the ports of power tools and trying to bodge a connection. So far this kit has fitted all of my power tools.

Colin Ellis

Ok, so I've had one of these in my professional workshop for over a year now. I use it purely to collect excess fine dust (which my main extractor misses) from the table of my large disc sander where the disc rises up. It has been in use almost daily for that time and still works perfectly. I have noticed a remarkable decrease in fine surface laying dust in the vicinity of my sander. For the price it's pretty unbeatable and reliability doesn't seem an issue. I think I am going to buy another one just for my circular saw guard.

James Mc Guy

I have a Makita belt sander that I duct taped to my dust collector - now I simply push home the rubber connector and I am away.

Mr. P.Hardy

I can now easily connect my Festool Midi to my Bosch router, Makita jigsaw and Dewalt router. What more need I say.

George Rowbottom

Excellent addition to my workshop. The hose is extremely flexible and does not crush if you accidently stand on it. It has so far worked with my Dewalt mitre saw, Makita 3612C router, Festool random sander and I have adapted it to suit my new oscillating sander. I am about to buy the extra nozzle kit to save removing adaptors when I move from machine to machine.

Joe Rosterburg

Great kit. Suits most of the tools I have tried. I bought a stepped adaptor to use with my bandsaw as the port is 4". now I can use it with all my larger bench top machines. Ordered at 4pm arrived 9am next morning - cant ask for better than that.

Mr P Rogers

Good flexibility in the hose. Adaptors screw on firmly and don't come off when you twist the hose. The hose does not mark paintwork either if you trail though doorways. All in all a very good hose kit.

Paul Harries

The suction on this unit is massive. I have added wheels to it to save having to pick it up each time I move it. The only negative I have is trying to fit the adapter onto the other end of the 100mm hose. Despite this, it was worth every penny, and would certainly recommend it to anyone needing an extraction unit.
