This premium quality pocket hole jig is manufactured from CNC machined aircraft-grade aluminium, beautifully finished in black electro-coating. The drilling block of the jig features two sets of angled drill guide bushes designed to ensure super-fast workpiece set up.
For timber up to 25mm thick the front set of bushes can be used alongside the onboard clamping mechanism. For wood thickness of 30mm to 38mm the external clamping attachment is used along with the rear set of drill guide bushes. The guide bushes are made from hardened steel to prevent wear and play, guaranteeing a consistent and true drilling line.
Laser etched metric graduations on to the drilling block allow you to accurately adjust the distance between the pocket holes from 20mm to 80mm apart. A series of four holes in the base allow you to mount the jig directly to your work bench for maximum stability. The clamp is easily applied using the large lever and you can vary the clamping pressure subject to the density of your wood, to prevent damage or crushing of the timber fibres. The rubber face of the clamp strengthens the grip on the workpiece without causing surface damage. The drilling block can be used independently from the base of the jig if required for jointing long work pieces or for repair work where the existing joint cannot be dismantled.

I'm not one for writing reviews but feel I must with this absolute weapon of tool. As a bit of context, I have used historically the Trend pocket hole jig which is the same standard of robustness but the retaining hex screw that holds the jigs in place threaded after the first use. The Rutlands jig has the large screw handle and screws all the way through the retaining bar which is fantastic and holds the jigs firmly in place. I especially like the angle bar to hold the jigs away from the fixed base, an inspired thought indeed.
However, it's not without a fault, the depth collar, I think, is way to wide and the internal radius only lets the drill bit through one way on the collar I have but that's the only issue I have with the hole piece/tool, so if that's all I have to worry about, I'm in a good place!!

Used diferent one before couple times but this one is much better when you can hold and secure the work piece on it so you have a pair of hand to use. With the attachement included and for the half price paid this is the most bargain piece of my woodworking family
