Product Details

This comprehensive pocket hole jig kit contains everything you need to get started creating clean, professional quality pocket hole joints. This kit contains a premium dual angle pocket hole jig kit, a 700 piece pocket hole screw kit, a pack of 100 oak pocket hole plugs and a fast jaw face frame clamp for assured workholding.

The premium quality pocket hole jig is manufactured from CNC machined aircraft-grade aluminium, beautifully finished in black electro-coating. The drilling block of the jig features two sets of angled drill guide bushes designed to ensure super-fast workpiece set up.

For timber up to 25mm thick the front set of bushes can be used alongside the onboard clamping mechanism. For wood thickness of 30mm to 38mm the external clamping attachment is used along with the rear set of drill guide bushes. The guide bushes are made from hardened steel to prevent wear and play, guaranteeing a consistent and true drilling line.

Laser etched metric graduations on to the drilling block allow you to accurately adjust the distance between the pocket holes from 20mm to 80mm apart. A series of four holes in the base allow you to mount the jig directly to your work bench for maximum stability. The clamp is easily applied using the large lever and you can vary the clamping pressure subject to the density of your wood, to prevent damage or crushing of the timber fibres. The rubber face of the clamp strengthens the grip on the workpiece without causing surface damage. The drilling block can be used independently from the base of the jig if required for jointing long work pieces or for repair work where the existing joint cannot be dismantled.

The 700 piece pocket hole screw set contains all the screws you could need for making pocket hole joints. The screws have No 2 Square heads, recognised as the industry standard head style by cabinetmakers worldwide as they give the best grip and will not round. The screws either have a large washer head which gives the most surface area when tightening and to stop the screw going through into the joining workpiece, or a pan head which is ideal for use on smaller projects.

Fine threaded screws are for hardwoods such as oak, cherry and walnut. Coarse threaded screws are for softwoods, plywood, MDF and melamine. The thread is self-tapping to prevent the splitting of the wood and it will screw the whole length up to the washer to give a very secure joint. Supplied in a pre-organised carry case for easy portability, the 700 piece set contains 150x 25mm screws which come with a pan head and coarse thread. 150x 32mm screws, 100x 38mm screws, 75x 50mm screws and 75x 63mm screws all in a coarse thread for softwoods and all have washer heads. Finally, 150x 32mm screws with a washer head and a fine thread for hardwoods.

To finish off a pocket hole joint you will need to insert a plug into the open hole. The plug covers the visible screw and hole making the joint unnoticeable. Once in place the solid wooden plug can be sanded, planed, stained or painted to match the rest of the workpiece, to make the joint completely invisible. This kit contains a pack of 100 premium quality pocket hole plugs, in solid oak. Each plug is sawn and finished to exact dimensions. The plugs are 9.5mm in diameter and can be used on wood thickness between 12mm and 38mm. Every plug is kiln dried to prevent the plug from shrinking in the joint.

The included face frame clamp feature a fast jaw clamping mechanism which allows it to be applied one handed within seconds with minimal adjustment being needed to alter the clamping capacity. These clamps are perfect for pocket hole joinery due to their large clamp faces which allow you to clamp over joint lines to ensure perfectly flush seams on your work pieces. With the joint being held flush by the clamp it means when the pocket hole screw is fixed the screw will not follow the grain of the wood, it will remain true and not misalign the joint. The jaws swivel allowing a parallel, even clamping pressure to be achieved, even on irregular shaped work. Constructed from steel forgings for strength and durability each clamp features an ergonomically designed handle to allow you to easily transfer the clamping force. There is a quick release lever within the handle meaning the clamp can be disengaged very quickly and smoothly. Each clamp has a 75mm throat depth and clamping capacity of 70mm. Each clamp comes with a lifetime warranty - if any clamp fails due to a material or manufacturing defect it will be replaced free of charge. ©

Used diferent one before couple times but this one is much better when you can hold and secure the work piece on it so you have a pair of hand to use. With the attachement included and for the half price paid this is the most bargain piece of my woodworking family

Having spent most of my working life as an Engineer in the aircraft component manufacture this jig is of a quality that I would have expected to see in that industry. Quality of finish and ease of use allowed me to produce a perfect pocket hole joint finish with screws and plugs supplied in kit at first attempt.

George Adam

Bill Jarvis

Another great Rutlands product added to my arsenal.
Arrived promptly & well packaged as usual and is a very solid item & easy to use. A very versatile jig as it can be dismantled and used for in situ repairs etc.

Tony Brocklebank

I deal with reviews for our company and I know how frustrating it can be to see negative reviews and very few positive ones when you know your colleagues have been working so hard to keep (sometimes very demanding) customers happy.

My order arrived very promptly but unfortunately there was a minor manufacturing fault with one of the parts. Rutlands have replaced the part in just over 24 hours, and dealt with the whole process very professionally. Very impressed and delighted with the service and the jig! Great service!

Paddy Hensley

I have numerous rutlands products and I rate them all highly. This device is perfect for kitchen fitting or assembling workshop furniture and I often find myself reaching for it. A hugely versatile tool in a little package.

Shayne Andersen

Dont know how I managed without one of these, its made pocket holes an option for simple joints, much faster for quick furniture projects and stronger. Feels really solidly made and I know I'll get a lot of use out of it
