Product Details

This comprehensive pocket hole jig kit contains everything you need to get started creating clean, professional quality pocket hole joints. This kit contains a premium aluminium mini pocket hole jig, a 700 piece pocket hole screw kit, a pack of 100 pocket hole plugs in both oak and pine and a fast jaw face frame clamp for assured workholding.

This jig is designed to produce fast and accurate pocket holes in timbers from 12.7mm to 38mm thick. It has the advantage that it works as a workshop pocket hole jig for jointing standard frames and as a portable jig when jointing work that is too big to fit in a clamped-in pocket hole jig. It is also great for repair work where the existing joint cannot be dismantled.

The aluminium body of the jig features two rare earth magnets allowing face clamps to be quickly positioned to lock the work piece in position. Once in place simply drill your pocket hole using the tapered HSS drill bit and depth stop. The drilling block features two hardened steel bushes to accept and guide the HSS stepped drill bit. Additional holes machined into the face of the jig act as dust ports to prevent swarf from becoming trapped in the flutes of the drill bit.

Set up is incredibly simple. To set the height of the drilling block you measure the width of your wood and then raise the drill block by the width of the wood, using the etched graduated metric scale. To set the drill depth stop collar you lay your drill bit against the horizontal scale and align it to the measurement that shows your wood width, then slide and lock on the depth collar. The drilling block can be used independently from the base of the jig if required for jointing extremely long work pieces. This ready to go pocket hole kit contains the full steel jig, titanium coated stepped drill bit, depth collar, square driver bit, screws and plugs. Beautifully finished in matte black, this is an exceptional pocket hole jig that we highly recommend for precise, fast set-up pocket jointing.

The 700 piece pocket hole screw set contains all the screws you could need for making pocket hole joints. The screws have No 2 Square heads, recognised as the industry standard head style by cabinetmakers worldwide as they give the best grip and will not round. The screws either have a large washer head which gives the most surface area when tightening and to stop the screw going through into the joining workpiece, or a pan head which is ideal for use on smaller projects.

Fine threaded screws are for hardwoods such as oak, cherry and walnut. Coarse threaded screws are for softwoods, plywood, MDF and melamine. The thread is self-tapping to prevent the splitting of the wood and it will screw the whole length up to the washer to give a very secure joint. Supplied in a pre-organised carry case for easy portability, the 700 piece set contains 150x 25mm screws which come with a pan head and coarse thread. 150x 32mm screws, 100x 38mm screws, 75x 50mm screws and 75x 63mm screws all in a coarse thread for softwoods and all have washer heads. Finally, 150x 32mm screws with a washer head and a fine thread for hardwoods.

To finish off a pocket hole joint you will need to insert a plug into the open hole. The plug covers the visible screw and hole making the joint unnoticeable. Once in place the solid wooden plug can be sanded, planed, stained or painted to match the rest of the workpiece, to make the joint completely invisible. This kit contains 2 packs of 100 premium quality pocket hole plugs, one in solid oak and the other pine. Each plug is sawn and finished to exact dimensions. The plugs are 9.5mm in diameter and can be used on wood thickness between 12mm and 38mm. Every plug is kiln dried to prevent the plug from shrinking in the joint.

The included face frame clamp feature a fast jaw clamping mechanism which allows it to be applied one handed within seconds with minimal adjustment being needed to alter the clamping capacity. These clamps are perfect for pocket hole joinery due to their large clamp faces which allow you to clamp over joint lines to ensure perfectly flush seams on your work pieces. With the joint being held flush by the clamp it means when the pocket hole screw is fixed the screw will not follow the grain of the wood, it will remain true and not misalign the joint. The jaws swivel allowing a parallel, even clamping pressure to be achieved, even on irregular shaped work. Constructed from steel forgings for strength and durability each clamp features an ergonomically designed handle to allow you to easily transfer the clamping force. There is a quick release lever within the handle meaning the clamp can be disengaged very quickly and smoothly. Each clamp has a 75mm throat depth and clamping capacity of 70mm. Each clamp comes with a lifetime warranty - if any clamp fails due to a material or manufacturing defect it will be replaced free of charge.
