Product Details

This comprehensive pocket hole jig kit contains everything you need to get started creating clean, professional quality pocket hole joints. This kit contains a premium steel pocket hole jig kit, a 700 piece pocket hole screw kit, a pack of 100 pocket hole plugs in both oak and pine and a fast jaw face frame clamp for assured workholding.

Pocket hole jigs allow you to produce incredibly strong, precise and clean joints when making kitchen cabinets, wardrobes, book cases and other furniture. The jig is manufactured from tool steel which is precision CNC machined to ensure both clamping and drilling accuracy. A series of four holes in the base allow you to mount the jig directly to your work bench for maximum stability. The drilling block features two hardened steel bushes to accept and guide the HSS stepped drill bit at the correct angle. The clamp is easily applied using the large lever and you can vary the clamping pressure subject to the density of your wood, to prevent damage or crushing of the timber fibres. A vacuum port held in position by rare earth magnets offers effective dust removal and improved drilling performance when connected to an extraction system.

Set up is incredibly simple. To set the height of the drilling block you measure the width of your wood and then raise the drill block by the width of the wood, using the etched graduated metric scale. To set the drill depth stop collar you lay your drill bit against the horizontal scale and align it to the measurement that shows your wood width, then slide and lock on the depth collar. The drilling block can be used independently from the base of the jig if required for jointing extremely long work pieces. This ready to go pocket hole kit contains the full steel jig, titanium coated stepped drill bit, depth collar, square driver bit, screws and plugs. Beautifully finished in matte black, this is an exceptional pocket hole jig that we highly recommend for precise, fast set-up pocket jointing.

The 700 piece pocket hole screw set contains all the screws you could need for making pocket hole joints. The screws have No 2 Square heads, recognised as the industry standard head style by cabinetmakers worldwide as they give the best grip and will not round. The screws either have a large washer head which gives the most surface area when tightening and to stop the screw going through into the joining workpiece, or a pan head which is ideal for use on smaller projects.

Fine threaded screws are for hardwoods such as oak, cherry and walnut. Coarse threaded screws are for softwoods, plywood, MDF and melamine. The thread is self-tapping to prevent the splitting of the wood and it will screw the whole length up to the washer to give a very secure joint. Supplied in a pre-organised carry case for easy portability, the 700 piece set contains 150x 25mm screws which come with a pan head and coarse thread. 150x 32mm screws, 100x 38mm screws, 75x 50mm screws and 75x 63mm screws all in a coarse thread for softwoods and all have washer heads. Finally, 150x 32mm screws with a washer head and a fine thread for hardwoods.

To finish off a pocket hole joint you will need to insert a plug into the open hole. The plug covers the visible screw and hole making the joint unnoticeable. Once in place the solid wooden plug can be sanded, planed, stained or painted to match the rest of the workpiece, to make the joint completely invisible. This kit contains 2 packs of 100 premium quality pocket hole plugs, one in solid oak and the other pine. Each plug is sawn and finished to exact dimensions. The plugs are 9.5mm in diameter and can be used on wood thickness between 12mm and 38mm. Every plug is kiln dried to prevent the plug from shrinking in the joint.

The included face frame clamp feature a fast jaw clamping mechanism which allows it to be applied one handed within seconds with minimal adjustment being needed to alter the clamping capacity. These clamps are perfect for pocket hole joinery due to their large clamp faces which allow you to clamp over joint lines to ensure perfectly flush seams on your work pieces. With the joint being held flush by the clamp it means when the pocket hole screw is fixed the screw will not follow the grain of the wood, it will remain true and not misalign the joint. The jaws swivel allowing a parallel, even clamping pressure to be achieved, even on irregular shaped work. Constructed from steel forgings for strength and durability each clamp features an ergonomically designed handle to allow you to easily transfer the clamping force. There is a quick release lever within the handle meaning the clamp can be disengaged very quickly and smoothly. Each clamp has a 150mm throat depth and clamping capacity of 127mm. Each clamp comes with a lifetime warranty - if any clamp fails due to a material or manufacturing defect it will be replaced free of charge.

Very well made and a great addition to the Dowel Jig I recently purchased. Looking forward to using them both on a kitchen refurb. Clamp supplied as part of the pack is really nice.

Exceptionally well made piece of equipment that produces clean and accurate results. I've not used pocket holes before getting this jig, I think this jib will be around for many years to come and used on many projects. Rutlands customer service and advice was excellent through the transaction also. I'd have no hesitation recommending Rutlands and this jig.

David Hall

This is a very well made and precise jig, I bought this for a project and cancelled an order for a KREG after a 2 month wait and still no jig. I am a newly to pocket holes and found it easy to use, however the project required pocket hole in 2 inch wide wood and I found the clamp would not close on 2 inch wood nor 1 3/4 comes to that and yes I had wound the the clamp all the way back as far as it would go. I did get it to work by removing the clamp block and moving it back but it is only held by the 2 front nuts now located in the rear holes. Maybe I missed something, why could the base not be longer, don't even need a longer clamp just 2 machined holes so the clamp block could be re positioned. All that said it is still a very good jig, a real solid feel to it.

Dave Sharples

Every one seems to be using pocket hole jigs today so I felt an obligation to try one out. I now know why. So quick to make a joint and the joint is so strong.

Paul Jenkinson

Having used a single pocket hole jig for the past six months I wanted to upgrade to a jig that held the work in position rather than clamping the jig to the work. This jig appealed because of its all metal construction. The others I had looked at, albeit well made were of a plastic construction. Call me old fashioned but I prefer steel to plastic. When the jig arrived I was pleasantly pleased as it is much bigger than it looks on the Rutlands website. It came in a very professional looking box with foam inserts and contained the drill bit a few screws and a few plugs. Setting it up was very simple compared to my single jig. You measure the width of the wood you are using and raise the head of the jig by that measurement. This sets the angle that the bit will drill at to make sure the bit comes out on the face of the wood rather than at the end. The clamp is very strong and you can adjust the rubber foot to vary the clamping strength. I am absolutely delighted with the jig and don't know why I persevered with my single jig for so long.

Awesome bit of kit the drill bit it comes with is dead sharp and bores into wood easily, can't believe how easy it is use and how great the results are. Made some quality looking speaker cabinets with concealed joints

Roger Parkes

Absolutely everything in this kit all I needed was a drill, first one I've seen with a dust removal port aswell which makes drilling easier as the sawdust doesn't clog the drill guides which can be a pain. The clamp holds really well and hasn't left a mark on my frames. Happy customer

Joff Tricker

Bought these clamps to adapt into a fret press tool for guitar making. Fantastic quality at an unbelievable price. The cauls and holder can be easily found on ebay and save you £150 or so on the price of an identical commercial tool.
As the tool is it has an excellent clamping action and is a great buy in it's own right. I can see myself getting a couple ore of these for general clamping in the future,,, Probably great for opening nuts at Christmas as a bonus...

Gary Appleton

Wish I'd have bought some of these clamps sooner, incredibly easy to use with just one hand whilst you secure the work with the other, great clamping pressure and comfortable handle. Held my glue joints in place perfectly whilst they set.

Cliff Browne

Clamps are perfect for pocket hole work holds the frame securely whilst you drive the screws in, quick release is a bonus also

Mr T Hardy

Well finished pocket screws. Threads are consistent and the heads have a deep recess to prevent the drill bit from slipping. Very good purchase.

Jermaine Strickland

Plugs give a good fit and Ive only had to deal with a small amount of excess to get a nice smooth finish when sanding. Do their job very well

Frankie Gill

Good quality plugs, uniformly made, great value too
