As timber grain, colour and pattern can vary from tree to tree, finding an exact match can be difficult and a near match can stand out and be as obvious as no match at all. This pocket hole plug cutter allows you to make your own 9.5mm diameter pocket hole plugs from the offcuts of the same wood that you are working with, guaranteeing you a perfect match and undetectable pocket hole joints.
Made to very tight tolerances this cutter will produces extremely accurate and flawless plugs in both hardwoods and softwoods. They are manufactured from a special grade of high carbon steel which is extremely hard wearing and retains its hardness over prolonged use, resulting in a cutter that will not deform under heat and which will always keep the same cutting geometry, over its lifetime.
The rim of the cutter finely scores the inner circumference of the hole, prior to four razor sharp cutting spurs removing the stock. This results in minimal fibre pull and tearing of the wood leaving extremely clean holes and plugs. The cutting edges are CNC ground which means less energy is required to cut the hole, in turn making cutting quicker, whilst ensuring a long cutter edge life. The outer walls of the cutter are also CNC ground and fractionally back tapered to reduce friction and prevent binding.
