Product Details
This is a compact and simple to operate moisture meter for measuring moisture content in hardwoods and softwoods from 5% to 44% and from 0% to 2% in building materials such as plaster and concrete. Monitoring the moisture content of wood can help eliminate shrinkage and swelling or warping and cracking. It can also help to eliminate surface finishing problems.
By inserting the two pins it measures the electrical resistivity between the pins. This reading is then displayed as a percentage of moisture found as both a percentage figure and bar graph. The easy to read LCD display is illuminated and features a hold function to lock the reading. The meter is supplied with a probe cover, that as well as protecting the pins when not in use, can also be used for calibration.
The meter automatically displays ambient temperature and has a small LED at its base to illuminate worksurfaces if required. Powered by 4 x AAA batteries (not included) this is a very accurate and extremely simple to use moisture meter for woods and building materials. ©

Meter arrived on time works well on all wood I have tried it out on looking forward to a lot more use as I work with reclaiming timber. One small niggle, one of the probes had a small sign of rust which I dealt with easily.

Needed to replace the old moisture meter I had, Rutlands Daily Deals presented the above on offer which is one you could not refuse. The meter is compact and gives good clear readings, can either fit in the pocket or clip onto the belt - very practical. Instructions leave a little to be desired, even with glasses they are not easy to read. I'll give it five stars, I would recommend the meter to anyone considering purchasing one as it is easy and very quick to use.

Bought this to check some old scaffold boards I had bought for a project. Very simple to use with a clear display. A friend has a very expensive moisture meter and this gave identical readings every time. Got mine on a daily deal so even more of a bargain.

Simple to operate - very handy for checking dryness of wood for woodburner.

I had wanted to buy a moisture meter for while, to check moisture content in my bowl turning projects. I had spotted this one in one of Rutlands emails
It came up on offer, so I bought it.
I had done a bit of research first, and thought it would fit the bill.
It's robust enough, and hasn't disappointed, work's well, and gives a clear reading. So I'm pleased.
Instructions could be better, very small print and no scale on percentage.
Overall good, 4 Star's. Would recommend if you only need something simple.

Just the Job! Pleased with size and ease of use on site. It seems durable and capable of handling work on site. One downside is I had to source batteries and I would much prefer it to be supplied with sufficient batteries, however it seems accurate and good value, it will certainly get good use!
It would have been 5Star if batteries were supplied but 4+Stars is an accurate and good score!

Really easy to use and very clear scale. Use it daily to check the timber I am about to use. Made a big mistake a couple of years ago when laying some European Oak tongue and groove flooring that contracted after a few weeks opening up the joints. Worth every penny and more.

I bought this moisture meter to take with me to my local wood yard. I can check the moisture content of the wood before I buying and transporting it back to my workshop. Great value.
