My husband loves this awl. Having lost the first one I bought him from Rutlands while out on a job, he decided to get a cheap replacement from another online retailer which bent after its first use. I felt sorry for him so I bought him another decent one from Rutlands. It is very well made and well worth the money. It is a a lovely looking, high quality and very useful tool.

I have an awl that belonged to my father and is over 100 years old. It has been continuously sharpened it and is now too short to use easily.
So why spend this amount of money on a new one when I can spend a quarter of the price? Quality, it feels superb in the hand looks fantastic and it makes great holes and people notice it, what more could I ask for, it is simply the best.

Very nice awl, very sharp and well made and finished. Just the right size for comfort. V Good quality tool, but a but overpriced for what it is. However, if you want quality, and this is the best I have ever seen, then the price is the price!

At last, a comfortable, easy to find and beautiful feeling awl for not only marking, but drill setting, just pure heaven for someone who relies purely on touch when working with wood. a great investment and what I've been searching for, for some time. I highly recommend this to anyone because of the build quality, feel and balance in the hand, doesn't hurt in the hand when held, compared to some I've used in the past. I love this and recommend it to anyone looking for an awl that'll last a long time.

Very expensive, but a fantastic awl. Very sharp point, enters materials (wood and plastics) easily and makes a good indentation for subsequent hole drilling. Fits the hand well.
