Product Details

This set of 3 precision measuring and marking tools contains our straight rule and squares and provides the woodworker with a comprehensive collection of premium quality, extraordinarily accurate measuring equipment.

The precision straight rule is the only precision rule to have been designed with features and benefits that are specific to woodworking, it is the straightest, heaviest, and flattest rule available. Each side of the rule has a 30° bevelled edge that allows you to make your pencil mark next to your required graduation without parallax error. The rule features two scales, a standard 0 - 300mm scale and a 150 - 0 - 150mm centre scale, the centre scale can be used to quickly find the centre of stock. There is a small central recess down the whole length of the base to guarantee it sits perfectly flat when on your workpiece.

The rule has been precision CNC machined from a single piece of aircraft grade aluminium and has laser etched metric graduations which are assured to ±0.001mm over 1m. This material is used for its stability and the fact that it will remain true once it has been machined, as it keeps to extremely tight tolerances. The rule has been beautifully finished by an electrochemical process called anodisation which increases its resistance to corrosion and wear while also making it very aesthetically pleasing.

This truly is the best ruler we have tested, it is perfect for woodworking applications. It is ideal for cabinet and fine furniture makers, ensuring an improvement in the accuracy of work. The quality is evident as soon as it is picked up due to its sturdy construction, making it ideal for the hobbyist woodworker or trade professional. The rule is 300mm long, 56mm wide and 6mm thick, its substantial size means it can also be used as a straight edge. The triangle square offers definite 45° and 90° angles that can be used for marking, checking and setting up of machinery and power tools around the workshop. The square features a lip on the front and back of its base which is used to secure it to the edge of your workpiece, once secured the square can be used to draw highly accurate perpendicular lines or 45° mitres. Used as a set up tool, the square can be used to instantly check or setup the angle of your machine bed or blade, ensuring the highest degree of accuracy.

The triangle square has been precision CNC machined from a single piece of cast, aircraft grade aluminium. There is a crisp and clear etched metric scale on both sides of the blade that is easily readable, even in dimly lit rooms. The scale is assured to 0.001mm over 1m. The square has been beautifully finished by black anodisation which makes it durable and scratch resistant.

The square measures 130mm wide by 150mm high, with the hypotenuse of the triangle measuring 180mm. The base is 15mm wide which gives the tool its large footprint and enables it to stand unaided.

A 90° square is perfect for machinery and power tool set up - it can be used when setting up table saws, jointers, or any machine where you are required to make precision cuts. When setting up machinery the large footprint of the tool allows it to stand unaided on the machine bed which leaves both hands free to make adjustments. As well as being a highly accurate 90° square this square can also be used to draw parallel lines at 1mm increments from the edge of your workpiece. There are a series of 5 holes running across the blade every 5mm, with the first hole being the at 0mm on the measuring scale. For example, the first hole is next to the 0mm engraving, the hole next to this is 1mm and the next hole is 2mm and so on. There is a lip on both the front and back of the handle which keeps the square flat against the workpiece edge, meaning the square can also be used to draw perpendicular lines. A small, recessed hole on the inner angle allows marking from the very edge of your workpiece. We would recommend using a 0.5mm fine pencil to achieve the best results when using this rule.

The square has laser engraved metric graduations which are assured to ±0.001mm over 1m. The graduations are crisp and clear and can be read easily without straining your eyes. The rule has been precision CNC machined from a single piece of aircraft grade aluminium which guarantees its squareness to 0.01mm over the entire length of the blade. The square has been beautifully finished by an electrochemical process called anodisation which increases its resistance to corrosion and wear while also making it very aesthetically pleasing.

The square features a hanging hole for easy storage and measures 200mm long by 110mm wide on the outer edges and 165mm long by 75mm wide on the inner edges. Each tool comes with a lifetime warranty - if any tool should fail due to a material or manufacturing defect it will be replaced free of charge. ©

Great product and quality.
Might get the larger square to with them. Accurate and makes you appreciate them.

Chris King

Really handy square saves time again and again

Michael Johnson

This is the first square I have that is perfectly square. It was ideal for setting up my table saw and will no doubt be great for the other project I have in mind. Well worth the investment.

Frank Richards

Aluminium square is ingenious! Not only is it 100% square for setting up my table saw I have been using it continually when marking out where to drill hinge recesses in my cupboard doors.

James

Very well made, I checked the squareness with an engineers square and it is perfect.

Sam Muggington

Small triangle square is useful all around the shop, I have used it to quickly set my table saw blade with unerring accuracy.

John Sloan

Expensive ruler but as with most things in life, you get what you pay for - here I paid for an excellent ruler that is head and shoulders above all of the traditional rules I own.

Mick Beach

Such a sturdy rule and straight as a die!
