Product Details
This rule set contains a precision 300mm steel rule and an aluminium rule stop. The set allows you to scribe parallel, perpendicular and 45° lines from the edge of workpieces. Once locked in place, the set can also be used as a repetitive measuring gauge for setting saw fences and router cutter depths. The rule stop can also be used with other lengths of rules providing they are between 25mm and 30mm wide.
The stop has been precision CNC machined from solid aluminium with a black anodised finish and comes with a large brass knurled locking knob which is easy to tighten and will not damage the rule. The precision rule conforms to EEC class 1 standard for guaranteed accuracy. It has a 300mm scale which is graduated in 1mm increments on one side and a 12" scale on the other which features 1/10", 1/20", 1/50", 1/16", 1/32" and 1/64" graduations. The graduations have been laser etched into the rule and then black filled to ensure they are easy to read. The rule is manufactured from hardened and tempered carbon steel and has a handy location hole designed for hanging the rule in the workshop. The set comes with a lifetime warranty, if any component fails due to a material or manufacturing defect it will be replaced free of charge. ©

Just to add to my earlier review I forgot to mention that the rule is both metric and imperial. Now many younger users won't have any comment regarding this but there are still many people like myself who systematically switch between both metric and imperial systems depending upon which fits the size of the work piece they are working with. I know I'm one of them.!!!

This is an amazing combination of a simple rule with a very accurate block which simulates combination squares.
Before buying this product I doubted it could deliver to the accuracy of a combination square and bought a Starrett combined square. However I had a belief that for £19.99 this product was worth the investment. On recite there is no doubt that this device will meet most of my woodworking requirements it is far more robust than I expected and will suffice as a go to device for every day markings and measurement transfers. The only downside is that a week after paying £199.99 its now reduced to £14.99!!!

A deceptively simple idea that is often bodged up when needed in the workshop. This is a really well made stop that will fit any suitable rule (works on my 24") and not only gives 90° stop but 45° as well. You may think you don't need it, buy it and you will wonder how you managed without it.

Not something that I would have considered essential however I am glad I purchased it as the stop makes it much easier to measure more accurately. As with all Rutland products well made, a good price and delivered on time, well done.

Annoyingly simple tool, but very useful. Yes, you can do without it, but it is a real convenience when you have it. I recommend this.

Nice piece of kit. Excellent price.
Not had it long but found it extremely helpful for marking out thin track saw cuts. I add the width of the cut and add about 1.5mm for the kerb of the blade. When making repetetive cuts the ruler will save a lot of time and mark out accurate cuts when marking out from the right hand side of the board.

The rule alone is worth the price paid, it is very accurate! I also would recommend the stop to all fellow woodworkers, no more holding rules on the edge of workpieces hoping for straight lines.

Such a simple design to draw lines from the edge of boards or doors. So easy to use and saves hours of time.
