Founded in Switzerland in 1902 the manufacture of Pfeil tools combines state of the art technology with time tested methods ensuring consistent tool shaping and quality. All Pfeil tools are sharpened and honed ready for use and are made from a special tool steel that combines outstanding elasticity with unsurpassed edge holding properties.Drawing on their many years of experience in producing world class carving tools, these Swiss made carpenter's chisels are designed and manufactured with all of the care and attention to detail that is expected from Pfeil's carving tools.
The chisel blades are made from K510 steel, a high carbon, chrome vanadium steel that allows these chisels to sharpen easily with little risk to the temper of the steel, to resist the metal fatigue common in tools that are struck and yet allows the blade to take a fine, razor like edge time and time again. Finely ground and mirror polished, these chisels come with 25 degree bevel angles that are honed and ready for use. The octagonal handles are made from solid Swiss elm, feature an oiled finish and have an oval rather than rounded cross section for a firmer grip. These chisels are very well balanced in use. Supplied in a rugged canvas tool roll, this set comprises 6mm, 10mm, 12mm, 16mm, 20mm and 26mm chisels. Overall tool lengths range from 240mm - 260mm. ©

As chisels go these are definitely on the high end of the scale, to start with the good points, the chisel role is very high quality and the chisel themselves are beautiful and very sharp on arrival (ready to use). now to the bad points they did need lapping flat as expected but my only problem with the chisels is the finish on the handles, it's the only thing that let them down. That being said you will not be disappointed with these chisels, a great deal and a must buy!
