This No102 pocket plane is the largest of the three Kunz pocket planes that we offer and is designed as a small precise tool which is great for chamfering, fine trimming and finishing work.
The cast cap iron allows for increased pressure to be exerted when working on hardwoods and in end grain. The compact, cast iron body fits comfortably into the palm of your hand to allow for greater control on intricate jobs. The 130mm long body of the plane is made from a fine grey iron casting which is coated with green epoxy resin and then finely ground on the base. The 33mm wide plane iron is made from tool steel which has been hardened and tempered to guarantee a long edge life. This is an excellent compact yet very precise hand plane that is great for small project work and fine detail finishing where other plane can not reach. Made in Germany. ©

Item arrived in very good time, however on inspection there was a void in the casting of the sole of the plane leaving a gap in the edge of the mouth - the plane works but really there should not have been a casting flaw in such a vital place. It's not a very expensive item, so you can't really expect much. There can't be much of a quality control process at manufacture. It does not really match up to its billing of being excellent and very precise. Disappointing.
