Product Details
Manufactured from solid, kiln dried German beech, this cabinetmaker's workbench is perfectly sized for the craftsman or home woodworker. The top is a generously sized 1500mm long x 650mm deep, including the vices (1350mm x 500mm excluding the vices), and this entire area is criss-crossed with a network of 19mm dog holes. This top is 30mm thick and made up from sections of solid beech laminated together to produce a flat, warp resistant table top with a 90mm laminated beech surround.
At the front and side of the top, two 360mm wide vices offer clamping capacities of 125mm and both vices run on precision machined, steel Acme screw threads. The movement of these vices is incredibly smooth and rapid. Each wooden jaw features two dog holes for extra wide table top clamping. Made from solid sections of beech, the legstand is incredibly sturdy and features a 995mm x 350mm shelf for storing tools and materials.
The optional R3509 storage unit offers both shelf and cupboard storage allowing you to keep your most often used tools within reach on the shelves while storing machinery and supplies in the cupboard away from dust and shavings. The quality of this bench is impressive. Supplied flat packed, takes 30-45 mins to assemble and is supplied with four bench dogs. Weight 50kg. ©
Please Note: This workbench is made from kiln dried, unfinished beech, the full bench including top, legs and bottom, needs to be sealed to protect it from damp and other environmental factors. We recommend Osmo Top Oil, Hardwax Oil or Door Oil as it nourishes the wood and protects it from moisture but also allows it to breathe.

Great!. love the work bench, been after one for months. I was going to make one myself but when I saw this. It was an no brainer to make it myself. Perfect size for my small garage and for me too. Am 6ft 3in. Love the quality. Happy Christmas to me lucky boy :)

I just finished assembling my bench and I have to say I am fairly impressed with what you get for the price. I was concerned that the bench wouldn't be sturdy or weighty enough, but it seems good to me.
Delivery was swift and professional. I have deducted one star because there was some superficial damage to the bench top, and also one of the mounting holes for the vice assembly had broken out quite badly when it was drilled. The screw in that hole isn't really gripping the wood, but I think the other three should be sufficient to hold it in place.

Excellent product, very good quality and sturdy, Arrived in no time. Had to follow instructions very carefully not to make any mistakes.

An excellent choice and a beautiful piece of workmanship. Looking forward to using it for many years to come.

Excellent product. Took me a morning to assemble including a couple of coats of looking at it and coffee breaks! Really solid. I would recommend having an offset ratchet screwdriver handy for attaching the top to the base, due to the proximity of the pre-drilled holes to the legs. Looking forward to using it.

for the money brilliant, took me less than an hour to put together, oil is a must, but yes 10/10

Received this on Saturday and built on Sunday and must say, for the price, I am impressed by the quality and weight of this. Although it is a little low for me (I am 6'2") it is perfect for my daughter who will be using it for some of her GCSE projects. For this price you cannot really go wrong. Recommended.

Just purchased this bench. Great price, easy to assemble and delivery second to none. I have been looking to make a small workbench for my garage conversion workshop but at this price and quality I'd have struggled to make it worth my while. It is very well made and surprisingly sturdy. Both vices are generous in size and work accurately and smoothly. The vice handles were missing from my package but Rutlands had them in the post to me before the day was out. Buyers should be aware, however, that the dimensions stated are incorrect. My bench top is 1340mm long by 500mm wide (vice not included). For those interested the height (not stated in the description) is 850mm. I was more concerned having too large a workbench so I was not troubled about this. It might matter to you though.

Delivered at 3pm, assembled and first coat of Danish oil applied by 5pm. Easy to follow instructions for an excellent product at an unbeatable price. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this bench to anyone thinking of getting their first wood work bench.

I received and assembled my workbench yesterday. It is all I had expected and hoped it would be: solid, well made, easy to put together, beautifully fit for purpose. This will be a real kick-start to my new career as 'man in shed'! Excellemnt.

Excellent product for the price, it's no sjobergs but then it's not 1k+! The timber used is great and very clear, no knots in sight. The vices are also surprisingly good quality with excellently machined parts. My only reservation about the bench is the method of fixing for the base to the top - a wood screw into each corner. I did not think this was adequate and have updated with blocks attached between the top rail and worktop. This stiffened up the bench considerably. A few coats of Danish oil also helped. If you are considering a starter workbench I wouldnt hesitate to recommend this one.

I have just purchased this bench for my small woodcraft shop. I am delighted with the quality and finish, but not only that, the weight is just perfect and stable for all jobs. The vice works smoothly and really clamps the work. Excellent value, highly recommend this product!

Good solid workbench and great value. Easy to assemble, but note previous reviewers comments about using bolts in the vices and screws in the leg/top assembly. I placed the shelf at the lower position (see "with storage" photo)so that I can build a drawer unit under the worktop.
Ryan Stowe
Excellent workbench. Half the price of equivalents without any loss of quality. Quick assembly, instructions take a while to fully understand and swift delivery. Wouldn't go anywhere else. Thank you.

What a first class product for the price, just what I was looking for. All parts present, delivered within 24 hrs, what more can you ask for! Must point out that some of the instructions are incorrect. The vies assembly should be attached to the vies face with the 40mm hex bolts and the whole table top fastened to the legs with the 50mm wood screws, as the holes are pre- drilled for the width of screws not bolts. This is the only gripe I have. Would not hesitate in recommending this workbench to any keen woodworker
Simon Finch
A great bench, well made at a sensible price, can't beat having the right tool for job. Only one small thing in that the flat pack was short of some of the screws, not a big issue.
Paul Millner
Really good value. Well made and solid (10-15 kg heavier than competitors). It took me more that 70-80 min to assemble rather than the 45 or so indicated but it was very easy. The two big vices are excellent and dog holes well located for the most flexible use.

Have just assembled my workbench and am very pleased with it. As other reviewers have said, it's terrific value for money. I personally think that the instruction sheet could be made clearer, perhaps with component parts labelled in some way. It took me a while to work out, but probably because I don't find these things as intuitive as more accomplished woodworkers might. The 2-package delivery was mistakenly split by Parcelforce, and all became clearer once the second (worktop plus vices) arrived. Overall a great purchase.

Have just finished assembling this five star bench and oiling it as recommended.Apart from a little transport jack in the one corner, all went fast and well. It is a very sturdy bench and 100 pounds cheaper than the swedish Sjoberg, which is a little shorter, but otherwise, I don't see the big difference. Very good value I think. Very pleased with finally having a real bench . Maybee I will build a cubboard under, but I kind of like the open shell, so one can overlook the tools
Nicholas Wall
Having read all the comments regarding this bench i have to agree with the general consensus that this bench is very good value. Very simple to construct with simple concise assembly instructions. Could be better quality coach screws as i had one shear off and was being particularly careful having read of a similar mishap from another buyer.
Michael Russell
Superb value for money bench. top is flat, and vices work well with no problems with fitting. 5 stars.

Arrived by the 10am delivery deadline. Packaging excellent and all parts safe and undamaged. Easy to assemble from the instruction sheet. All pilot holes accurately drilled making inserting the screws easy but remember Beech is tough so take care. Glue supplied for dowels. Completed bench is excellent quality, sturdy and solid. Excellent for the price.
Bob Stead
Very pleased as others have said. However, when I put mine together one of the vice screws sheared of in situ so it's now only held by three screws. Still seems solid enough, but take care!!
Norman Richards
I got this to replace my old workbench that was on its last legs after 30 years of service. This bench is sturdy and well made and I can see it lasting another 30 years. I've given mine a couple of coats of oil to keep the wood supple and it looks the business. The vices seem just as hardy as the rest of the bench running smooth without snagging.
T Deacon
Wow! Wasn't expecting this level of quality for the price. This bench is all beech and as solid as a rock. I have to admit, I've been looking for flaws at this price, but even the vices work perfectly. Thank you Rutlands, my new bench is perfect.
