TCT Router Bits
Each router bit features diamond ground, micro-grain tungsten carbide tipped blades. This tighter micro-grain structure means the blades offer long lasting hardness and superior edge retention. The body of each bit has been turned and then milled with uncompromising precision from a single piece of 4140 high tensile steel to give perfect balance for reduced vibration and therefore smoother cuts. 4140 steel has been chosen because of its toughness, high fatigue strength, and abrasion and impact resistance. The tungsten carbide tips are then brazed onto the bodies using induction to create an extremely strong joint that safely holds under the high stresses that occur when routing. The router bits are suitable for use on softwoods, hardwoods, veneers, laminates and composite materials.
Finger Joint Bits
Finger joint bits are used to produce one of the strongest side-to-side or end-to-end joints in woodworking. The tapered fingers triple the surface area for glue application, creating a joint which is stronger than the wood itself. These bits feature 5 tapered fingers and an abutting edge cutter, which ensures a clean joint line on the face of the material. With the cutting height correctly set, simply route one workpiece face up, and the mating piece face down. For best results, wood should be prepared square and straight prior to jointing. The number of fingers used can be adjusted to suit the thickness of material, with the minimum stock thickness being 11mm and the maximum stock thickness 36mm. When assembling the bit, it is recommended that the cutting edges are staggered to spread the cutting load and reduce stress on the bit. For router table use only.
Superior Finish and Performance
The shearing angle of the cutting edges ensure they remain in constant contact with the workpiece to allow a smoother, slicing cut which eliminates tear-out and gives a mirror finish. The bits feature right hook angles which further enhances the cut due to the fast removal of chips. These bits feature an anti-kickback design which limits the feed rate of the material being cut to decrease the likelihood of a kickback, meaning each bit conforms to strict German DIN standards to ensure maximum operator safety. Each router bit features a lifetime warranty, if any bit fails due to a materials or manufacturing defect it will be replaced free of charge. ©

William Easter
This is a good quality cutter bit but would be so much better if Rutlands quoted the appropriate sizes. As it is I cannot use it for the project that I ordered it for.
James Aitkin
Very pleased with this finger jointer. It is substantially stronger than a biscuit joint and has a far more pleasurable appearance.
Peter H
The narrow tungsten tips leave a very clean cut and allow for pin point alignment of the joint. The wedge shape design makes for a very strong joint. Excellent value for money. No instruction supplied but very self explanatory.
Rodney Palmer
With the substantial increases in the price of timber and board material it is more important than ever to conserve material and make the most of offcuts we usually regard as waste. This cutter allows me to join short offcuts end to end with strong end grain joints which withstand subsequent machining and handling. The same cutter can be used to join pieces edge to edge to make larger laminated boards. The fit and finish are excellent and the cutter comes in a high quality protective storage box. Very competitively priced and does a great job. Very satisfied with this purchase.
