Product Details

TCT Router Bits
Each router bit features diamond ground, micro-grain tungsten carbide tipped blades. This tighter micro-grain structure means the blades offer long lasting hardness and superior edge retention. The body of each bit has been turned and then milled with uncompromising precision from a single piece of 4140 high tensile steel to give perfect balance for reduced vibration and therefore smoother cuts. 4140 steel has been chosen because of its toughness, high fatigue strength, and abrasion and impact resistance. The tungsten carbide tips are then brazed onto the bodies using induction to create an extremely strong joint that safely holds under the high stresses that occur when routing. The router bits are suitable for use on softwoods, hardwoods, veneers, laminates and composite materials.

Rail & Stile Bits
Rail and stile router bits are used to produce panelled door frames, commonly found on kitchen cabinets and cupboards. The set consists of a matched pair of 2 router bits: a profile bit and a scribe bit. The profile bit moulds the decorative profile onto the rails and stiles, whilst simultaneously cutting the 6.35mm groove to accept a raised or flat panel. The scribe bit cuts the ends of the rails and produces a mating profile to the stiles. This set features a classical profile and when paired with a raised panel bit, produces elegant custom-made doors. The bearing guide allows these bits to be used on rounded, arched, or custom shaped doors. Minimum stock thickness for these bits is 19mm and the maximum thickness is 22mm. For router table use only.

Superior Finish and Performance
The shearing angle of the cutting edges ensure they remain in constant contact with the workpiece to allow a smoother, slicing cut which eliminates tear-out and gives a mirror finish. The bits feature right hook angles which further enhances the cut due to the fast removal of chips. These bits feature an anti-kickback design which limits the feed rate of the material being cut to decrease the likelihood of a kickback, meaning each bit conforms to strict German DIN standards to ensure maximum operator safety. Each router bit features a lifetime warranty, if any bit fails due to a materials or manufacturing defect it will be replaced free of charge. ©

Geoff

I bought this set a couple of weeks ago to give cabinet door making a try. After a few practise goes I am getting the hang of using them. The cutters are very good quality and I will definitely be purchasing more from Rutlands

Tim Stainsby

Excellent bits for the money I paid, I also purchased a raised panel cutter which is needed because I wanted to make complete kitchen doors. Definitely worthy of 5 stars...
