Product Details

Guide bushes are used when material is required to be routed to a set pattern or shape. They are used in conjunction with worktop jigs, lock jigs, hinge jigs, sign writing jigs and any other form of router copying template. These guide bushes are precision machined from solid brass to ensure perfect concentricity and dimensional accuracy. If a guide bush is not 100% concentric then the finished workpiece will not be a true copy of the template or jig and as such could ruin an expensive workpiece.

This 11 piece set is supplied in a heavy duty storage case and contains 8 x metric guide bushes, 2 x locking nuts and a solid brass adaptor plate which fits most leading brands of router. As well as fitting into the adaptor plate the individual guide bushes are commonly used on router sub-bases and router table inserts. When using these guide bushes it is recommended that a minimum allowance of 3.5mm between the router bit and outside of the bush is made, to allow the waste to clear the guide bush.

The set comprises of industry standard, outside diameter guide bushes of 10, 12, 14, 16, 18, 20, 24, and 30mm, all with a 30mm outside diameter threaded ring. The solid brass adaptor plate measures 67.5mm externally which is recessed to fit a 61mm router base opening. This is a premium guide bush set precision machined from solid brass that should not be confused with budget pressed steel or plastic guide bushes. ©

I do have some guide bushes but the Guide Bush Set I Purchased from you are
Excellent. And come in a presentation box
I would recommend them

I don't seem to have had the same issues others have said, maybe I just haven't used them enough yet. They seem to be well made. I don't often need to use a bush for what I route, but useful to have.

I subsequently bought these as I bought the cordless Rutland router on the review that was posted saying all the persons guide bushes fitted the said router not so .
Also this bush set is recommended in one of the Rutland bundles, it dos not fit directly in the aperture with the screws provided as they protrude below the base plate so a little bit off filing /machining is required.
Also agree for the price a centering pin should be included in the price, however if you fit an old 12mm cutter in the router and place the 14mm bush in the base plate it lines up pretty neat and you can the swap bushes to suit the job in hand I swapped between 16mm for hinges and30 mm for face plates hope this helps

Greybadger

excellent quality set, though not cheap.
agree with comment that is not necessarily "universal" as didnt fit any of my routers directly and needed some machining

Simon Kirk

Great service, the guide bush set is extremely good quality. And the universal base plate top quality.

I recently ordered a set of these and was very impressed when I took them out of the case - there is no doubt they are really well made. Unfortunately, the description that they are "universal" and "suit all leading brands of routers" is not correct - I have a Makita (which I'd assume is "a leading brand"), model RP2301FC, which has retractable spring loaded clips to hold guide bushes in place. These Rutland guides can't be used as the adapter plate is too thick to fit under the spring clips, so I reluctantly had to return them. Rutlands dealt with this speedily and with no quibble, fully refunding the cost plus providing a prepaid label for return P&P. If you have the means to skim down the thickness of the adapter plate you could easily modify them but I didn't have the equipment to do that. The plate thickness is not provided in the specs and I didn't think to accurately measure the thickness before returning them, but the plate is around 1mm too thick. 3 stars given because they are so well made and customer support were brilliant dealing with the return, but if the info on the product page was better, perhaps with a simple dimensioned drawing, I'd have realised they were incompatible and saved a whole load of time.

After trying to find some decent guide bushes to fit my new cordless milwaukee router i fpund these.
Very well made and a great fit in the plastic pre machined base.
The only downside is no centering bush which has also been previously mentioned.
But on the whole very happy

Howard Warhurst

I love nice things.
This set of router guide bushes is not just aesthetically pleasing to the eye and tactile to the hand but makes the whole job of having to change bushes so much easier. They are also extremely well machined to greatly reduce error.
Highly recommend

Excellent set, well made. but why do I have to spend another £20+ quid on a centering tool with a £40 "Premium" set?
How much extra would it cost to supply even a couple of stepped hard plastic pins like the Trend Kit?
I suspect a matter of pence, which I would gladly have paid.
Just as well I had some anyway.........

I bought a lower priced, look-a-like set off Ebay and they were very poorly machined. There was about 0.5mm of side movement in the bush holder so every time I tried to route a dovetail joint the tails and the pins would not fit. I ordered the Rutlands set and there is no side movement and my dovetail joint fitted first attempt. I waisted over £20 on hardwood trying to make the Ebay set work. Buy once buy quality.

James River

Bought this set to mount to my Hitachi M12. The adaptor plate is a perfect fit to the base of the router and i can now easily swap guide bushes in seconds. Well made and nicely presented in a case.
