Product Details
This premium guide rail router base kit has all you need to convert your existing router into an extremely precise track router for accurate cuts every time. The guide rail router base is exceptionally well made, simple to set up and incredibly precise. It has two core functions: the first is for use with the premium guide rail for precise straight routing and the second is as a standalone router circle cutter. When straight routing the base sits over the raised channel on the guide rail. Two micro-adjustment cams allow you to eliminate any horizontal play between the rail and base to ensure an ultra-smooth movement along the rail. There are a further two micro-adjustment screws to precisely set the vertical level to ensure the base does not tilt at an angle. At the head of the unit is a 180mm diameter plate that accepts industry standard routers. You simply drill the plate to match the holes in the base of your router.
Once positioned the router can travel back and forth on the slide arm to set your width of cut. The slide arm features laser etched graduations from 0 to 450mm in 1 mm increments and you can lock off the arm at any position before using the brass knurl knob to dial in your exact measurement. One full rotation of the brass knurl knob moves the arm back or forth by 0.5mm. To circle cut you simply screw the adaptor plate to your workpiece. The adaptor plate has a circular boss made from steel that locates into one of three holes in the base of the router guide. You set the sliding arm to your desired length, lock off and then rotate the router to create your circular cut. You can circle cut from 320mm to 900mm diameter.
The premium guide rail measures 1400mm in length and is manufactured from extruded aluminium that has been case-hardened to prevent bowing and has a special coating to ensure extra-smooth running. Embedded in the face of the rail are four full lengths of phenolic plate to minimise friction and allow for ultra-controlled movement. On the underside of the rail are two full lengths of a hard-wearing, cushioned polymer, for gripping smooth materials, whilst protecting the work surface from damage.
The 165mm wide rail is extremely stable in use and can be rigidly clamped to any worksurface using the premium guide rail clamps. These premium clamps have been specifically engineered to create a clamping force that will prevent the rail from moving away from the line of cut when routing. The 150mm long, solid aluminium bar, slides to any position on the guide rail allowing for any size of workpiece to be clamped. This is an exceptional kit that includes one premium guide rail router base, one premium guide rail and two premium guide rail clamps and will enable you to achieve extremely precise routing results. ©

Superb - have just tried out for first time and very pleased. Quality seems good, very solid construction. Glides smoothly and holds in place well.
Great piece of kit- glad I purchased!

Generally good, nice quality feel. However, the guide rail, having only one raised rail, lets the precison base sway (I wonder why they did not give it two). This can be stopped (more or less) by adjusting the cams within the base's slot, but the setting does not seem to stay for long and needs regular attention, which is a shame. Setting up the router for a cut can be a bit difficult because it is hard to see where the bit touches the wood with the big base in the way - I have added tiny notches at the edge to show the centres. The clamps for the rail foul on the edges of what you clamp to unless the rail exceeds its span in length. Smoothness of movement is adequate, not perfect, but the little brass micro adjustment is very nice. You need to buy guide rail stops as well. I gave 4 stars because I think this kit needs a bit more design work yet.

I bought this kit plus an extra length of track and the connector bars. I needed to route a series of 10mm full length slots in an 8 x 4 sheet of mdf and it proved excellent. No risk of the router moving off the cutting line - so fool proof to me.

I am absolutely delighted with this router guide rail. The build quality is excellent and compares positively to my Festool saw track. There are micro adjustment screws that remove any slop between the rail and the router base to ensure a true routing line. I used it with my large Makita 3612c router and it works a treat when grooving out on cabinet frames. The clamps are very powerful and do not wander even when you exert side pressure with the router. I've not used it as a circle cutter yet but i can't see why it will not do an excellent job. If you do a lot of routing of straight lines but this, you will not regret it.
