This router table insert plate is made from 10mm anodized aluminium and is extremely strong, perfectly flat and features an abrasion resistant finish. The plate is compatible with all plunge routers with a maximum base diameter of 200mm. An 90mm aperture accommodates large router bits, whilst the two polycarbonate click-fit insert rings of 50mm and 35mm are used with smaller diameter bits. To mount a router, you use the router's sub-base as a template to drill the plate, having positioned the set-up ring and centering pin to ensure your router is centrally mounted. A series of fine-thread adjustment screws allow you to level the plate perfectly flush with the table. The insert plate is supplied with a top mounted guide pin, featuring a free-spinning plastic barrel to enables free hand and pattern shape routing. The plate measures 298mm x 235mm and is engineered for the table openings of all of the Rutlands® premium router tables. A solid thick piece of metal.
The grub screws allow fine tuning to get it perfectly flush with your table top.
The choice of a matt finish for a router insert plate seems slightly questionable though. It looks good, but it holds more dust, and causes noticeably more resistance on the workpiece than it would if it was smoother.

Good insert plate, comes with a centre jig for a 1/2' router, makes it very east to fit accurately.

I used this in my custom router table and routed out a rebated opening for it to sit on nice and flush. Along with the insert rings I bought to go with it I have the flexibility to work with any router bit whilst maintaining a good opening size. May opt for the router lift in the future but for now I'm very happy.

really strong plate had my heavy dewalt router sitting on it for aw hile now and it hasn't moved or sagged like phenolic ones Ive had in the past, feels proper quality
