This table top is laminated on both faces with a low friction, premium-grade, phenolic which is highly wear resitant and allows the workpiece to glide smoothly through the router bit. The 2mm phenolic laminate is sandwiched around a 30mm solid moisture-resistant composite core which prevents the absorption of atmospheric moisture, eliminating the risk of warping or distortion of the table surface when working in cold or damp workshops.
The 800mm wide by 600mm deep table ensures excellent support and stability when routing large and long workpieces. Set into the top is an extruded aluminium, double T track which includes a standard 19mm track for use with mitre gauges and featherboards, and a 6.3mm T slot for use with stops and home made jigs. Machined into the table top is an appeture measuring 298mm by 235mm, complete with a self leveling mechanism in each corner to flush mount Rutlands® router insert plates and router lifts.
The underside of the top is drilled and threaded to accept the Rutlands® router table stand and the side faces are drilled to accept the Rutlands ® router table fence. The top is also engineered to accept the new Rutlands® router table dust box. I though about making my own router table top but when I worked out the cost to make a similar top it was obvious that for a £20 more that this was the better option. Glad I decided to purchase this as it saved me the effort of making one. Good quality and well made. Well packed so not damaged in transit. I recommend this.
