Product Details
This premium performance Rutlands® router table features the R5008 router table stand, R5007 router table top, R5009 router table fence, R5010 insert plate and two R5015 double feather boards.
Premium Router Table Stand R5008
The legs and braces on this router table stand are made from 38mm wide x 2mm thick box-section steel for guaranteed strength and rigidity. The stand has been specifically designed to ensure that the legs and braces fit perfectly square to each other, via a series of pre-welded locking nuts and stainless-steel fixings. The feet have a large 45mm diameter footprint for optimum stability and have fine height adjustment when levelling on uneven workshop floors. Each foot is fitted with a heavy-duty rubber pad to offer excellent vibration dampening.
Premium Router Table Top R5007
This table top is laminated on both faces with a low friction, premium-grade, phenolic which is highly wear resistant and allows the workpiece to glide smoothly through the router bit. The 2mm phenolic laminate is sandwiched around a 30mm solid moisture-resistant composite core which prevents the absorption of atmospheric moisture, eliminating the risk of warping or distortion of the table surface when working in cold or damp workshops. Set into the top is an extruded aluminium, double T track which includes a standard 19mm track for use with mitre gauges and featherboards, and a 6.3mm T slot for use with stops and homemade jigs.
Premium Router Table Fence R5009
This router table fence is precision CNC machined from aircraft-grade aluminium with a black anodized finish. On the top face of the fence is a metric scale and an 8.3mm T Track for use with Rutlands® flip stops and on the front face there is another 8.3mm T Track for mounting Rutlands® featherboards and the height adjustable router bit guard. The two sub-fences are made from a solid composite with a low friction, phenolic laminate surface to ensure smooth movement of the workpiece. The fences can be adjusted, tool free, to accommodate any router bit from 10mm to 115mm in diameter and the outfeed sub-fence can be off-set to allow for edge planing. The two fence support brackets are mounted to each side of router table top, allowing the fence to be moved back and forth. An adjustable metric scale on the fence brackets allows you to precisely align, zero and set the position of the fence to the router bit.
Premium Router Table Aluminium Insert Plate R5010
This router table insert plate is made from 10mm anodized aluminium and is extremely strong, perfectly flat and features an abrasion resistant finish. The plate is compatible with all plunge routers with a maximum base diameter of 200mm. An 90mm aperture accommodates large router bits, whilst the two polycarbonate click-fit insert rings of 50mm and 35mm are used with smaller diameter bits. To mount a router, you use the router's sub-base as a template to drill the plate, having positioned the set-up ring and centering pin to ensure your router is centrally mounted. A series of fine-thread adjustment screws allow you to level the plate perfectly flush with the table. The insert plate is supplied with a top mounted guide pin, featuring a free-spinning plastic barrel to enables free hand and pattern shape routing.
Premium Double Feather Board R5015
These feather boards are an essential tool and provide even, consistent pressure on your workpiece up against the fence. They allow you to apply pressure closer to the router bit, at the most critical point, without risking injury to your fingers.©

I have been looking for a router table for a while. This is a high quality table and operates superbly. Excellent quality and value.
Robert Bradshaw
All the bits and pieces went together without any problem or reaming out of holes and the result is a very sturdy piece of kit. I have fitted fully locking castors on mine and a no voltage off switch, which is located on the front rail, facilitating a quick emergency switch off. I have also linked an earth wire from the new switch back to the motor casing, as to my surprise, the motor is wired in twin flex, without earth.
I look forward to using my new "toy"; I have every confidence that it will perform well.

This package is a bit of a curate's egg. Good in parts, bad in parts. First the good. It's a cracking price. It arrived blindingly fast in three seperate packages, all arriving at the same time & very securely packaged. The top, in fact, is packed up in 3 layers of cardboard like a Russian doll. Everything looks good out of the box. The top is flat to 0.05mm checked every which way with slip gauges against a Rutlands Dakota 3' aluminium straight edge. The fence is absolutely A1, far exceeding my expectations. It's dead straight along the face and 90deg to the table all the way along. No cup, no bow, no crown, no twist. I simply cannot fault it. Likewise the plate is dead flat in every direction. The legs are heavy gauge steel, 1/8" or 3mm thick or thereabouts. The connecting rail plates are 1mm thick. Everything's neatly drilled and finished. So far so good. I put it together following the instructions precisely and set about plate levelling.
After a couple of hours of failing to get the plate level, I realised something really wasn't right. So back to the slips and straight edge I went. Yikes! The table had bowed downwards in the middle, left to right and front to back. I could now easily get a 0.3mm slip in the gaps. I loosened off the screws connecting the top to the upper rails and ran the rule again. The top had returned to its former flatness.
Then I eyeballed the interface between the top and the rails. Basically the top rests flat on the top of all four legs but the rails do not butt right up to the underside of the top, no matter how high you pull them and they're all bowed downwards slightly in the middle. Thus there is a gap of about about 1&1/2mm at the ends of the rails increasing to about 2mm in the centre. Tightening the connecting screws simply pulls the top down in the middle to meet the rails. I thought about just leaving it floating but noticed that even fairly light hand pressure would deflect the top downwards in the middle. I also noticed a bit of racking. In practice leaving it floating ain't gonna work.
So after 2 half days of experimentation I came up with a simple, cheap, effective and, I think, elegant solution. I flipped it back upside down and removed the legs, complete with the lower rails. Then removed the upper rails from the top. Note the long, side to side rails have 4 screw holes, the short front to back rails have 3. I took a bag of standard M5 washers and stacked them in piles 3 high, tacking them together with grease. I put a stack of 3 under the middle 2 holes of the longer rails and 1 stack under the middle hole of the short rails. This left one fixing hole at the end of each rail. Under these I put a single washer and a single M5 shake-proof washer. The latter is approx the same thickness as 2 standard washers but compresses down nicely to the right shim size without
pulling the top down. Then I tightened up the middle screws tight and the end screws enough to get a solid fix without distorting the top. Now when I presented the legs and the rest of the base it all bolted it up nicely without issues.
The question then is whether it's worth the money. Well it's clearly, ahem, inspired by the JessEm basic set up. At the time of writing that would cost £127.55 for the Rout-R-Table, £187.57 for the Phenolic Mast-R-Top, £172.57 for the (original) Mast-R-Fence II, £59.99 for the Rout-R-Plate, and £18.75 for the Corner Levelling Pads. That's £551.45 plus delivery from the States, plus Import Duty plus VAT. That would probably come to over £700.00 altogether. So yes. This package is indeed a terrific bit of kit and an outstanding bargain, notwithstanding. BTW the double featherboards are also a cracking piece of kit at a fantastic price. Three cheers for The Ruttles!

I am absolutely delighted with this new router table. The top is precise and level, the insert plate can be adjusted so it sits flush and the fence is a dream to slide back and forth. I made the mistake a couple of years ago of buying a similar size table of EBay that was 1/3rd of the price of this Rutlands one. I had nothing but issues with it - warped top, chipped edged around the insert plate and a fence that resembled a banana. You get what you pay for and I highly recommend this to any serious woodworker. When you are routing to make fine joints you need precision and this is what you get 10 out of 10. My advice like the other reviewer is to set up the stand with the bolts loose add then add the top before fully tightening the bolts. Routing just got better.
Simon Newton
Very pleased with this table, the new steel frame makes it very sturdy and the top is solid and flat. The original insert plate wasn't quite flush, contacted customer services who replaced it without a quibble and it easily takes the weight of my Trend T11. Well done for your excellent response. Will definitely order from Rutlands again.
Stuart
For the money, a cracking bit of kit.
Glenn Newton
This is just great quality for the cost ! Its solid, nicely finished, and comes as a nice complete package. I didnt use the supplied legs but instead mounted mine to a kitchen cabinet carcass for a boxed in solution to dust control. Couldnt be happier, and you will be too if you choose to buy one.

Great router table .i was looking on ebay for second hand but this one is great and possibly cost a lot less
Anthony Berryman
This is the best value piece of woodworking kit I've come across. The frame is very solid and well up to the job. The top is rigid and accurately machined...the fence moves easily etc. The insert also is very rigid and easily removable. Great product...really impressed.

a really sturdy well built base and tabletop for working on, didn't need the extras as I already have a trend router that is easy enough to adjust. not too heavy to move around if needed but feels very solid and doesn't move when the router is spinning. very happy for the money I paid.
Oliver Hamilton
After a fairly short pain-free assembly (my advise is to screw everything together lightly then tighten once fixed) I was up and running.I have a DeWalt DEW625, what most would regard as a pretty high end router so I wasn't about to skimp on a router table, I needed something that would get the best out of it. This table more than meets the task and has allowed me to expand into new routing territory and take on more heavy duty tasks. Excellent!
