This round base is purpose designed to fit the R5000 Precision 1/4" Router. The round base is made from a machined aluminium die casting. You simply push the motor body into the round base and then lock off with the large clamping lever. You now have an even more compact router that can be used with either one or two hands. On the bottom of the base is an anti friction, non marring 75mm diameter plastic sub base to ensure a smooth sliding movement over the workpiece.
One of the advantages of the round base is that you can see the cutting line. This design allows you to have precise control for trimming, edging and fine detail routing. An excellent round base that will allow you to enhance your workpiece finish. ©

Bought this to go with my new cordless palm router. Usual fantastic Rutlands quality backed up by their cast iron guarantee. Snug well machined fit onto motor body with a good amount of grip for single or two handed operation.
Nice thick low friction non marring base with an appropriate sized opening.
Comes with a dust extraction takeoff which easily attaches and detaches.
Overall, a perfect companion to the plunge base my router was supplied with.

Very easy to fit to router body. Makes router much easier to handle when trimming edges.
Also - being round this base makes it easy to set up a clamp cutting guide (eg R3150) for routing rebates and channels, as the edge of the cutter is always the same distance from the edge of the base.

Good router base. Very useful because it's round and you can follow some templates with it. There is no thread on inside, as in description. The router slides in and locks after setting the depth with the toothed wheel provided. It's exactly the same system as on the Makita rt0700, 3709 and 3710 wich I own and tried with it. Good value for the price. Highly recomended.
