This saw is very good value for money and has some nice features such as being able to take flat blades (Pegas are a good choice for these) which are far better for cutting tight curves. Oher nice features are variable speed, a dust extractor port, a see- through guard, a light and a rotary tool attachment. The saw does vibrate a fair bit so I bolted the saw down to a bench to dampen the vibrations. Changing flat blades is a little time consuming and fiddly, and refitting a flat blade to make an internal cut looks tricky. It is however possible to remove one of the covers (held by 2 screws) to gain access to the lower blade holder in order to locate the blade correctly. The cover should then be replaced before operating the saw. The plastic table insert was not quite level with the rest of the table (this caused problems when cutting near the edge of the material) and so I made a cardboard insert to raise the plastic insert slightly. Despite these gripes, I still think the saw is very good and amazing value for money. However, if you are looking to make a lot of internal cuts then look for a scroll saw with a tool-free flat blade change but expect to pay a lot more money.

Very nice machine - my first scroll saw - but seems solidly made and versatile.
The only thing I felt that I had to change was the worklight bulb which was a bit dim. Now it has an S25 led bulb, which is much better. Whiter and brighter.

I used to have a top German scroll saw in my old workshop, After moving to my new home and with no workshop as such, I could only keep the woodcarving side of my hobby and therefore a new scroll saw was required. This saw does the job very well so far - little noise and just a little vibration that is all. First class machine and very good value for money.

Recently purchased this scroll saw with rotary attachment, excellent service from Rutlands. Thought I'd better give it a try, so set out to make some nameplates for all the grandchildren and was very pleased with the machine, quiet running variable speed control brilliant, a lot better than my previous Nu tool saw. Hope it lasts as long. Highly recommend this machine for the price.

What I like about this scroll saw is how quiet it runs. I work with veneer faced sheets and with the correct blade choice and speed setting there is no edge chipping what so ever. I have used many brands over the years and can confidently say that pound for pound this is an excellent scroll saw.

The best thing about this scroll saw is the dusrt extraction port positioning and the blow tube. The port is positioned right next to the opening of the table so it draws dust away at the point of cut, whilst the blow tube blows air on the top of the workpiece so that you have perfect vision of the blade. Very nice machine.

The variable speed control is excellent as it allows me to vary the speed to suit the material and thickness of material that I am sawing. The motor is a lot quieter than my previous Draper saw and I particularly like the blower as I can see my line of cut. Before I was always running out of puff to see the line!

I make wooden clocks that I offer at craft fairs throughout the country. I previously had a second hand Hegner scroll saw which needed up dating as the motor seemed to me stalling frequently. I bought this one after reading a number of reviews on woodworking forums. This model appears to be sold under many brands so I simply choose the lowest price combined with the free rotary tool. Must say it has performed very well over past few weeks. Vibration is negligible. Blade breakage is low (I use plane end blades that Rutlands don't sell - Pegasus)The shaft drive is also useful for signing off each clock. I would recommend.
