Product Details
Ripple jaws have deep ribbed grooves both on the outside and inside of the jaw. The deep grooves are designed to give a strong and powerful grip on rough or bark covered wood. They are excellent for green turning whether spigot or bowl turning. The jaws project 25mm from the base. In compression mode they will grip tenons from 65mm to 40mm and in expansion mode they will grip from 50mm to 75mm.
These jaws are machined from a special grade of medium-tensile steel, which is normally used for the manufacture of high performance turbo impellors, pistons and gears. Using this steel allows for closer tolerances during the manufacturing process which results in excellent concentricity to minimize vibration and to ensure that a chatter-free, super fine finish can be achieved by the woodturner. ©
