These aluminium sash bar clamps have a 1500mm clamping capacity and are perfect for large capacity clamping jobs such as door and window frames, kitchen units and table and cabinet tops. They are incredibly light and easy to use meaning they are chosen over traditional steel sash bar clamps for a multitude of projects. Constructed from flat aluminium beam with large surface area ductile iron heads and tails they can exert high pressure without deforming and are also tapered towards each other to enable true parallel clamping. The clamp has a flat bottom to allow it to stand, unaided, on the workbench which will prove especially useful for most glue ups.
The clamp is fully adjustable as the tail can be locked off in 25mm increments and the lead screw has a travel of 45mm. The smooth running rolled acme threaded bar provides easy and rapid movement of the clamp head. Weighing only 1.25kgs they can still exert an impressive 8000N of clamping force. Because of the aluminium construction an additional benefit is that the bar will not mar the surface of your workpiece, which could be the case with steel sash clamps.

Lightweight, easy to use and well made! Used so far to clamp wood frames / legs, but not table tops, and worked like a treat! Cannot comment on their durability - time will show, but 5 stars so far. And the service and packaging from Rutlands was impeccable as always. Forgot to mention the price - bought them on Rutlands' mega-sale and for nearly Ă‚£10 a piece it felt like a steal.... Would definitely recommend Rutlands!

You get what you pay for. Amazing price, £100 for 6 clamps. Very useful.
However I am giving it 4 stars as they are constructed of 1.6mm thick aluminium which flexes a lot (too much) under pressure. I have another set by a different manufacturer that use 3mm thick aluminium and they are vastly better. So when using them, you must balance the clamps opposite each other by having one each side of your material to negate the flex somewhat.
The maximum jaw travel is only 20mm due to the protruding rivets that block the thread travel which is barely enough if, say, you are glueing up multiple boards to make a larger panel using biscuits. Would definitely benefit from more useable thread. Maximum opening width is 1523mm and they adjust very easily. Overall I think they are excellent for the money and I would buy them again, as at under £17 each they are a bargain, but don't expect to pull poor joinery together as they don't have the clamping pressure without deforming.

On a couple of my clamps, the threaded clamp only has about 22mm of travel but the other end locks at approx 25-26mm intervals, which means you have to pack it out with a piece of wood to take up the slack. Apart from that, they are a handy clamp for the price.

These clamps seem to be very good value and I'm looking forward to using them very soon.
My one complaint at this stage is that the website states:

Unfortunately there are rivets limiting the travel of the lead screw to around 23mm. It looks like this will cause problems upon trying to clamp certain sizes.
