Measuring 2750mm (9 feet) long this guide rail is supplied in two sections for easy transportation and storage. Made from hardened aluminium extrusion, the two sections of 65mm wide rail join seamlessly together using a steel insert bar that locks both sections rigidly together via three allen headed set screws. The guide rail is perfect for straight sawing or routing of 8 x 4 composite material sheets, plasterboard and insulation board. For smaller work pieces simply use one section of the rail.
To clamp the rail to the work piece there are two heavy duty clamps that slide into a T slot. Each clamp can slide the full length of the rail and features an adjustable mechanism to lock the clamp securely in place when positioned. The clamps operate on a toggle basis and will rigidly clamp work pieces up to 40mm thick.

I've been looking for something similar for a while to replace the lengths of wood clamped to panels whilst sawing. These fit the bill perfectly. Good quality, accurate and robust whilst lightweight enough to manoeuvre along the full length of a sheet of ply. The clamps are strong with a decent pad meaning your workpiece isn't damaged. As others have noted some instructions to set up would be helpful although it isn't too tricky by reference to the photos above! Overall another excellent piece of kit from Rutlands.

An excellent piece of kit. The two sections are perfectly aligned and the clamps are easy to use and are well built. The guide clamps securely to the material being cut. I bought this to use as a circular saw guide for cutting 2.4 m PVC bathroom panels and the length of the guide means the saw is aligned perfectly before coming in contact with the material. I have also found that one section on its own makes an excellent replacement table saw fence. My only comment would be that it would have been good to have instructions for attaching the clamps but you can figure it out by looking at the photos on the packaging.

I bought this extra long clamp for routing a series of 12mm dadoes in 2m x 1m sheets tulip wood. I used my old Elu MOF96E router which is quite heavy. The router base has one flat face that sat against the rail and it performed very well. The rail did not bow and the result was a series of straight 12mm slots. Very please.
