Product Details

Quickly secured to any work surface up to 40mm thick this multi purpose vice is the practical choice for home, garage and small workshop applications. The head rotates through 360° and features two sets of jaws. One pair of jaws measures 38mm wide by 16mm high and are smooth faced to protect the surface of the workpiece, whilst the other set measure 63mm wide by 16mm high and are serrated for powerful work holding and feature V notches for holding round stock.

The swivel base also rotates 360°, so you can readily position the work piece for best access. Manufactured from CNC machined, grey iron castings it features an Acme threaded main screw, for smooth, controlled movement whilst delivering an impressive clamping force up to 4500N. At the rear, the vice features a machined anvil measuring 50mm x 25mm, providing a striking surface for a variety of functions.

The main screw is fully protected from dirt and debris, preventing swarf for becoming trapped between the main screw and the cast steel nut. The castings are epoxy powder painted resulting in a hard wearing, corrosion and chip resistant finish.

Heavy piece of kit. Seems well made and at a good price. Yet to fit it to the bench. But looking good.

Steven Richardson

This Vice is a must have, the weight of it and quality can only be appreciated when you actually have it in your hands, crazy especially when got it on deal. This is excellent for woodcarving, as the holding angles are numerous, not for huge pieces of wood, but ideal general run of the mill sizes.
It can be placed anywhere in your workshop as well or put away. Definitely 5 Stars.Thank you yet again Rutlands.

Purchased as a general purpose vice for my small garden shed, so I could easily angle it and have longer items poking out the open door. Didn't want anything that needed permanently attaching to the makeshift workbench which is actually a metal topped potting table.
Great for light work and a lot stronger (and and surprisingly heavy) than I expected.
Very well made and whilst not designed to replace a bench vice for heavy hammering, I have done a lot of cutting, sanding and metal filing very successfully. Love that I can leave it clamped on the bench and easily spin the unit to keep it out of the way when not in use.
Nice smooth thread and excellent clamping force. Very pleased with the purchase.

I recommend this vice
The strong sturdy build is immediately obvious. It is a weighty piece of kit.
On delivery all functionality was smooth and positive in operation and only light touch was required to place each vice head in the required plane and at the desired working angle: however, a light application of WD40 throughout improved functionality even further.
The vice presents at a comfortable working height: the selected head can be easily positioned either over the bench or outside the edge of the bench.
With the head over the bench it allows long pieces of timber/metal to be worked on the bench top and these supported/chocked appropriately to provide level working conditions if required.
If you need to work on large work pieces stood on the floor against the side of the bench the vice can be used to securely steady the work.
I have completed filing, sawing work on a few various shaped items and the Grip Functionality was superb.
I would definitely buy again

Stephen Ellison

Brilliant vice with lovely smooth thread and excellent clamping force. Heavier (and better) than I was expecting. More versatile than most clamp on vices.

David Aldis

It won't replace a bench vice for heavy hammering, but is immensely versatile for lighter work.

Mr C Bishop

I bought this vice for woodcarving. Saves me a lot of time as I can rough out and detail carve without constantly having to take the wood out of the vice and put in a new position. I use the wider jaws as they are serrated and grip the work piece better.

John Denver

I had to sand down a drawer front and the rotating head was excellent as I could change the position of the wood to sand all faces without having to constantly remove and clamp up again. Very well finished and very smooth movements in all directions. great buy.

kendrick sinclair

great little clamp, sits tightly on the workbench. solid as a rock so far

Brady Reeve

Bought this just for general purpose work but didnt want anything that needed permanently attaching to my workbench. Good for light work a lot stronger than I expected for a little vice.
