These bevel edge chisels are made from a high carbon steel which has been hardened and tempered to Rc60 over the full length of the blade. This results in a blade that will hold a fine edge, over a long time and withstand the impact of heavy chopping cuts without chipping. The side bevels are finely ground to a narrow, tapered land for cleaning into angled corners and tight recesses. The blade and tang are forged from one piece of steel, which is seated deeply into the chisel handle for strength and durability.

The handles are guaranteed split-proof and are made from a dual compound that absorbs hammer and mallet blows whilst ensuring a comfortable non-slip hold in the palm of the hand. The steel striking cap prevents the handle from mushrooming when repeatedly used with a mallet. The set is supplied ready honed and comprises of eight bevel edge chisels 6mm, 10mm, 13mm, 19mm, 25mm, 32mm, 38mm, and 51mm, housed in a fitted wooden box, with each chisel having its own location to prevent the chisels moving and becoming damaged and scratched. Each chisel has an overall length of 260mm with a blade length of 140mm.

This bevel edge chisel set is made to our specification and is excellent for fine work in the joiner's shop when cutting dovetails and cleaning delicate joints and for second fix work when chopping out mortice lock and hinges. ©

The chisels are very strong and well made The blades are very sharp and the handles are capable of taking quite a hammer/mallet blow which enables the chisel blade to easily cut the wood as required The icing on the cake is that they come boxed from safe & easy storage and I recommend to anyone requiring high standard wood chisels

You know the way it is on a shared worksite - Screwdriver/Prybar/Chisel are interchangeable hence I didn't take my expensive prybars - sorry, chisels, to site.These were very well priced on the price drop and I thought they'd be ideal. When I first opened them I was somewhat disappointed with how unsharp they were, but half a dozen strokes to flat the back and the same on the front on a 1000 grit diamond stone and they're absolutely brill. Heavily made and with the steel strike through handle I suspect as happy to be used with a framing hammer as they are with a mallet. Still not going to lend them to anyone else though!

Although zi haven't had the chance to use these, I can tell this was an excellent buy looking at the quality, packaging and the fact Rutland has never let me down , grab these while reduced.

I wanted a good set of chisels but couldn't really warrant spending a lot. These came up on the daily price drop so I snapped them up. Very pleased with the quality and the wooden case they came in was a bonus. If I had known they were so good I would have paid full price a long time ago. .Just a little extra TLC on a fine sharpening stone and they are slicing through whatever I put in front of them.
