FULL DESCRIPTION
This lock jig is engineered from solid grade, high-performance premium phenolic known for its exceptional strength, stability and warp resistance - as well as being totally water and liquid resistant. Budget jigs made from laminated composite can warp and lose stability due to moisture absorption and temperature change leading to inaccurate cuts. The extremely durable, anti-friction phenolic allows your router to glide smoothly through the cut without snagging. Inferior jigs made from less durable composite material can wear over time leading to imperfections in the surface and inaccurate cuts.

The uniquely designed phenolic lock jig is the perfect tool for quick and precise lock fitting. With a fully adjustable aperture it can be used to rout mortice and faceplate recesses with a range of lengths - up to 175mm. The 4 interchangeable templates enable use with lock widths of 16mm and 19mm and faceplate widths of 25.4mm and 22.5mm. The template keyhole slots ensure quick and easy template changing. Durable and adjustable aluminium fixing plates attached to the body ensure your jig can be firmly secured to doors with a wide range of thicknesses up to 58mm (commercial FD60 fire door thickness is 54mm).

Precision CNC machine cut with +/- 0.02mm accuracy it will ensure you achieve precise measurements and square lock apertures every time. Laser-engraved labels and markings make measuring and setting up especially easy. The engravings are cut into the phenolic surface meaning they will not wear under constant friction from the router - providing long lasting clarity. A comprehensive user manual is also included. To use this jig you will need a ½" hand router, router bit (diameter: 12.7mm, height: 63.5mm - straight with end cutting), 16mm guide bush, clamps and a Philips screwdriver.

Achieve consistent and precise lock fittings every time with a jig that is moisture and warp resistant. ©

So simple to use.

So simple to use. Makes fitting locks much more accurate and so much faster. Tested out on an old door and after a couple of attempts it was a breeze.

Most of the doors I hang are fire doors in commercial buildings, so this jig has proved invaluable as the clamping brackets open up to just shy of 60mm. Again i have used varying brands of lock from Era, Chubb, Yale etc and there has always been an insert plate to match. So, yes I am very pleased with this jig as it suits my work and is so simple to use and surprisingly these days, the instruction manual is very detailed and gives step by step set up operations

Been using the Trend lock jig for the past couple of years and i have lost a number of the insert plates. Decided to try this one and I'm pleased I did. I use a small Makita 1/4" router when fitting locks and this jig is perfectly sized for the base of the router to sit on the surface without wobbling. The fit between the insert and the phenolic plate is tight, so there is no play, making for a net fitting faceplate. Build quality is excellent and i would recommend.

Good quality well made jig.

Good quality well made jig. Setup needs care to ensure the jig is accurately centred on the door however once done the jig can easily be transferred door to door for repeat cuts. I lined the clamping faces with masking tape to prevent marking doors when pulling the jig off one and fitting to another. The jig would benefit from the centre marks being extended in towards the mounting face to avoid parallax errors. I used a Makita DRT50 router with this jig and the combination worked very well.
