Biscuit Jointer

Biscuit joints are predominantly used when joining sheet boards such as plywood, particle board and MDF. They are also used with solid wood to replace a mortice and tenon joint as they are easier to make and just as strong. A small TCT circular saw blade cuts a crescent shaped hole in the opposite edges of two pieces of wood. Oval shaped, compressed wooden biscuits made from beech are covered with glue and placed in the slot, and the two boards are clamped together. The wet glue expands the biscuit, resulting in an extremely strong bond. As the slots are slightly longer than the biscuits, you can slide the panels sideways after the joint is assembled and before the glue sets, to achieve perfectly aligned joints.

This premium performance jointer features a cast aluminium adjustable fence, that can be set between 0° and 90° for joining straight and mitred pieces, and the fence height can be accurately adjusted to match the thickness of wood. The spring loaded plunge mechanism is extremely smooth and the triple turret depth stop allows for the use of No 0, No 10 and No 20 biscuits.

The 100mm diameter blade has 6 tungsten carbide teeth to leave a clean, feather free slot for precise biscuit placement. The biscuit jointer is supplied with a dust collection bag or alternatively a dust port is positioned to the rear of the blade for connection to a vacuum hose. The main body of the jointer is manufactured from aluminium die castings which are specifically weighted to ensure that the jointer is well balanced to allow for precise blade alignment and biscuit positioning.
