Handheld Rotary Drywall Sander - 225mm with Integrated Dust Extraction System

The Rutlands® handheld drywall sander delivers fast, efficient material removal, powering through thick joint compound, plaster and other imperfections to leave smooth, seamless joints and flat, paint-ready walls and ceilings.

Powerful but highly controllable, the soft start motor prevents jerking on start-up. The ergonomic gun-grip handle, continuous lock-on button and overall low weight makes the sander comfortable to use, even over extended periods. Variable speed adjustment allows the rotary speed and stock removal rate to be matched to the application, from flattening heavy ridges, right up to feathering edges and final finishing. An ultra-bright LED light ring around the sanding head illuminates the work surface, revealing any unevenness or imperfections.

Two sanding modes – coarse or fine, control the responsiveness of the spring-loaded backing pad. Fine sanding mode allows the pad to retract in response to surface contact, following contours for a less aggressive, more controlled finish. Coarse sanding mode locks the pad, keeping it firmly pressed against the surface for faster, more aggressive material removal.

The integrated dust extraction system uses motor-driven impellers to move air and dust through the holes in the backing pad, driven down the connected 2m hose into the shoulder-slung cloth collection bag. Suction power can be adjusted with the vacuum dial to carefully control adherence to the work surface. A flexible bristle skirt surrounds the pad, sealing the sander against the wall to trap floating dust inside.

Supplied with the sander is a 225mm backing pad, 2m dust hose and cloth collection bag. For maximum dust extraction efficiency, the drywall sander is recommended for use with net abrasives and connected directly to an M class dust extractor. ©
