The main bar is made of a single piece of 22mm x 6mm I profiled steel that prevents the bar from flexing when clamping and maximises strength and durability. I think you would be very hard pushed to find better quality for the price. The castings are smooth without any hard edges and covered in a thick powder coating so they can be easily wiped of dust without cutting yourself or snagging a piece of cloth. The **** threads are much better than others I have bought in the past that seem to scrub the thread corners (and the black finish) when tightened hard. These **** very smoothly even when as tight as I can.
One of the nicest things is the wooden handles which are much nicer than plastic ones. I don't expect the red painted finish on the handles will last, but when it looks untidy, I'll clean it off and use shellac to get a nice traditional feel. I don't know if the plastic jaw faces will go out of shape (they have on other models I have), but I'll replace then with glued on 3mm plywood with a thin leather facing, it necessary, like I have done on my G-cramps.
Would happily buy further ones if I need more in future.
Great Clamps, super price, ideal for those quick clamping moments, nicely made quick delivery, everything a good tool should be, looked after will last a life time.
Excellent value for money.
Really strong clamps. Be sure to use wood spacers unless you want your workpiece marked. Could have been packaged slightly better, on another day I might have lost one of the red plastic caps as they'd come off in the box. Other than that, really, really pleased with them and good value too at £8 per clamp.
I bought these clamps as I am relatively new to wood working and needed to expand my clamp collection for a project I have undertaken with alot of glue work. So far they are really helping speed up the building of the panels with plenty of pressure and unlike some of my G clamps they are alot quicker to tighten up and adjust when using quite alot of them. Very impressed for the money
