FULL DESCRIPTION

This drill guide provides pillar drill precision within a portable package, allowing you to drill accurate holes anywhere and at any angle between +/- 60°. The precision machined aluminium headstock runs on two 35mm long linear bearing races, providing ultra-smooth, controlled travel, free from lateral play.

The three jaw 10mm chuck features two specially selected high speed bearings, ensuring repeated accuracy and clean, consistently drilled holes. The chuck features a ¼” quick change hex shank and either side of the shank is storage for two self-centering pins which screw into the base, allowing the guide to self-centre over the edge of a board. Both 12mm thick steel guide posts feature depth stop collars, allowing one to be used to support the headstock during bit changes without losing the current depth setting. With the stop collars removed, the full 215mm range of travel can be achieved.

With a large 180mm x 160mm footprint, the 15mm thick base provides rock-solid stability and ample room for clamping, and features 4 mounting holes for affixing to a jig or sub-base. The base has 75mm wide opening to accommodate large forstner bits, and reference points around the base opening allow quick positioning against pre-drawn layout lines. V-grooves above the base facilitate the drilling of round stock such as dowels or table legs. Each side of the base features clear, easy to read angle graduations, including a reference mark at 22.5°. The two large locking handles are knurled for a secure grip and steadfast support when drilling.

An auxiliary edge guide attaches to all four sides of the base, locating the guide quickly at a set distance from the edge of a board, ideal for batch drilling. This auxiliary guide can also be configured to sit under the drill guide, providing additional support when drilling close to an edge. The auxiliary clamp can be attached to each side of the base, providing rock solid stability when drilling large or positionally important holes. ©

A cracking little mobile drill press

The build quality on this unit is really good, the press runs on guide bearings which are really smooth, with included depth stops, the ability to drill centrally on round objects is also a great addition.

quality

i received the drill guide a few days ago and must admit was so pleased i did not go with cheaper alternatives. The packaging was first class and removing it from the packaging you could tell it was going to be good. Precision engineering and fitted together perfectly ( it was actually a pleasure assembling it)
i used it to drill holes in oak beams for support plates and perfect for the job - robust and accurate with no wobble once clamped - very happy with the purchase and did not break the bank
