FULL DESCRIPTION
When routing the end grain of a narrow workpiece such as rail and stile doors it is imperative that the workpiece is held both securely and safely to achieve precise results. The coping sled features a large smooth sliding phenolic base ensuring stability and control whilst a premium quality toggle clamp holds the stock firmly against the fence, allowing rails to travel through the router bit ensuring clean and square cuts.

This new sled uses the router fence as its reference, so unlike sleds that use mitre tracks, you do not have to waste time aligning the mitre slot parallel with the fence. A 50mm high clear guide rail is elevated on two steel rods and overhangs the phenolic base of the sled and acts as the reference by running against the router fence. The clear overhang guide eliminates the risk of cutting into the phenolic base of the sled and offers excellent visibility. The two 110mm tall round handles allow for a firm grip and are positioned to allow for any angle of approach. The phenolic base is 10mm thick and features a large, stable surface area measuring 320mm x 200mm. The toggle clamp has tool free adjustment and can be operated with one hand with a maximum clamping capacity of 30mm. The sliding block can be adjusted to accept workpiece widths up to 150mm wide and is held in position with a T bolt and knob. A sacrificial block can be positioned between the block and the workpiece to prevent end grain blowout.

If you work with rail and stile router bits to make kitchen and cupboard doors or route with thin stock this is an excellent sled that is easy to set up, glides effortlessly and holds the stock rigidly in position to give clean feather free cuts every time. Highly recommended for all woodworkers using a router table. ©

Super

Great product, really good quality. Needed when routing end grain to prevent blow out. Good safety aid to keep away from the bit.

A well made bit of kit

A well made bit of kit which makes life easier/safer. I particularly appreciate now being able to add sacrificial material at the end of the cut to get rid of blow-out. A good investment.

Holds the wood securely

Holds the wood securely, no wobble or vibration at all. Really easy to use and I feel far safer now when passing the thin ends of stock across the cutter. Would highly reccomend it as a router table addition if you make end cuts.

Router Sled

Superior end grain cuts

Using the fence as a reference, the sled remains permanently parallel, for superior end grain cuts when compared to track mounted sleds.
