This triangle set up square has a multitude of uses in the workshop. It can be used for setting up machinery such as table saws or router table fences. It has a thick cross section so will stand unaided on your table surface to allow you to adjust your machinery with both hands. Easily set your machinery blade to either 45 or 90 degrees. The triangle can also be used as a clamping square when you need to guarantee a joint is at 90 degrees. Simply place the triangle into the corner and secure with clamp in the same way you would use a traditional clamping square.

The square has been CNC machined from aircraft grade aluminium; the edges have been machined perfectly flat to ensure that the triangle sits perfectly square when stood upright. The triangle square has a black anodised finish which will protect it against scratches and make it durable. A crisp and clear metric scale has been laser etched onto 3 sides of the square - the vertical scales are especially useful when setting the height of router bits.

The triangle square has an overall length of 205mm and is 15mm thick. The 1mm graduations are laser etched for complete accuracy. ©

do you need one?

Bought a batch of plastic clamping squares years ago which have been excellent.... Used for both clamping and set up
when this appeared my other half was "do you really need it?"
It complements the plastic squares. They are cheaper and have a bigger clamping area. This will clamp at 45° and is also accurate and more legible for set up.
So do you need one? actually for many purposes it's handy to have a pair! a hint for a buy one get one free offer?

Excellent quality...

Excellent quality. Good haptic properties too. I use it for my band saw adjustment and for 90° clamping as it is better than the ones I used before.

Having seen these advertised for a while and could not see any reason to buy; after all, I'd managed quite well with my engineers square for some years when setting 90 degrees on the planer fence, band saw table, mitre saw, marking out and so on. so when I did order this, I was not quite sure why I had done so. However having now got it, I am glad I did. It is used in all places where I previously used the Engineer's Square, only this is much easer to handle. Plus when setting the Mitre Saw at 45 Degrees, it is no-longer a case of using the scale on the saw; doing a few test cuts and making the fine adjustments. This does it right first time. It is yet another of those little things that I have been tempted by Rutlands, but make setting up and marking out much easier, quicker, and more importantly, more accurate. The product is of good quality and robust and therefore no reason why it should not last my lifetime.

I ordered this from a Rutlands promotion because it looked sexy as hell. When I opened the box I was not disappointed. Tested for squareness against my Starret square as well and it is perfect. Not just a thing of beauty.

Excellent quality. I use when setting my planer beds to level, setting saw blades to 45° and for general marking out of 90°. One of my most go to tools.
