The Rutlands® table saw with stand features a large, cast aluminium table top with an anti-friction coating to ensure fast and smooth movement of the workpiece. The full-length aluminium rip fence locks at both the front and rear of the table and has the additional advantage of a torsion lever to ensure maximum clamping strength, which prevents the fence creeping when sawing large workpieces. The blade can be micro-adjusted so that it is always parallel to the rip fence and mitre slot.

Two rack and pinion fence rails ensure that the rip fence stays parallel to the blade, allowing for a maximum ripping capacity of 625mm. The hinged sub-fence can be laid flat to form a low fence for safe cutting of thin workpieces. All blade adjustments are made from a centrally located knob, which allows for quick and easy tilting of the blade and height adjustment with just one hand. Powered by a high torque 2000W motor, the saw is fitted with a 255mm, 48 tooth fine finish blade with 10° ATB carbide teeth suitable for general use on hardwood, softwood, and composite woods.

The maximum sawing depths are 85mm at 0° and 60mm at 45°. The mitre gauge, push stick, tool kit and power cable all have on-board storage for fast and easy accessibility. The no-volt release switch with safety stop prevents the saw from accidently re-starting after a power cut. A 63mm dust port allows for fast connection to industry standard dust hoses and extractors.

The stand is purpose designed to position the saw at a comfortable table working height of 890mm. The stand features four tubular legs fitted with no mar rubber feet, one of which features height adjustment, ideal when working on an uneven floor to prevent rocking. The table saw is easy to transport with its ergonomic handle and low weight of 22kg. This is an excellent saw for home woodworking, furniture and cabinet making and first and second fix joinery.

The saw is shipped with the riving knife in its 'storage' position, and the riving knife must be raised above the blade prior to use, as per the supplied user guide. ©

Replacement for ****

Bought as replacement for a 225 **** PTS primarily for the fence clamping and the smaller footprint. No frame but I made a mod to my bench to house this one.

Fence is so much better and easy to use with the rack and pinion, seems solid so far, easy to line up and holds parallel.
Full speed start rattles the unit a bit til up to speed, seems some play in the motor blade assembly when static, but seem to spin out at full speed and under load.
There is a braked stop maybe a few seconds, certainly no long rundown time.

Blade is 48t, will hold judgement on how long it lasts, fine on soft wood/mdf etc, but did smoke a bit when cutting a hardwood cutting board to size, even going slow.

Good dust collection but why are Rutlands machines not all the same dust port, with. quick connect, this is 63mm plus a reducer (supplied), I have the bench planer and the thicknesser, plus the new cyclone and the quick release hose kit and the don't line up very easily, always a compromise to get them hooked up.

Overall a good replacement I think, esp as bought on offer and my old one went quickly on eBay :)

Good value for money

Good value for money. It is noisy, as has been said by others (from user manual sound pressure level 91 dB(A) ;sound power level 104 dB(A)) but other, much more expensive machines are similarly loud.

I haven't used it properly yet but it seems to be well made and it's light (important if you're storing it on a shelf).

Another great product from Rutlands, I'm really pleased with this table saw, I replaced my current table saw as it was taking up too much space in my workshop. This 8" replacement is so much better.

Perfect workshop table saw.

Perfect workshop table saw. I have yet to find a grumble with it. Every cut straight and precise, the rack and pinion adjustable fence is genius, superb addition to my workshop. 10x better than the one it replaced.
