FULL DESCRIPTION
This drill guide is manufactured from ABS thermoplastic, a material commonly used for injection moulding applications where structural strength and stiffness are required. The drill guide is truly portable and offers the accuracy and control achieved with a drill press combined with the added benefit of being able to drill at any angle between -45° and 45°. The guide can easily be set up to drill perfectly true perpendicular holes. You can alter the drilling angle by releasing the two star knobs and then positioning accordingly using the calibrated scale, the angle is then securely locked off to ensure it will not change during use.

As all the main components are manufactured from ABS the unit is durable and hardwearing as well as being very stable during use. The head slides up and down on two steel bars and features a depth stop for repetitive boring. The base has anchor pins which can be used to stop the guide sliding on your workpiece during use. It also features a V groove for drilling round stock to stop it from rolling away from the bit.

The guide contains a 10mm capacity chuck and is supplied with a chuck key, the chuck is smooth to operate and provides a secure hold. The base aperture will accept drill bits and hole cutters up to 60mm in diameter. It will allow you to drill highly accurate holes at varying depths and angles without the need for a drill press. ©

No more non-vertical holes!

Brilliant bit of kit. I often drill pilot holes through fairly thick timber, and getting the exit hole aligned with the entry point is a bit tricky. This guide eliminates any errors. The only (small) improvement I'd suggest would be the addition of positive stops at each angle. The black pointer against the black markers isn't that easy to line up. But maybe it's just my aging eyesight!

Recommend Good Build Quality

Assisted with my project with great results. Some reviews mentioned no storage for the chuck key well myself when finished using it just remove the drill bit from clamp and place the handle of the chuck key inside clamp and tighten up by hand.

This is a great peice of kit, I've

This is a great peice of kit, I've been wanting one for quite some time and it was on sale, so the wife couldn't complain. It came in very handy when I was building the new "playroom" (workshop), this really is a great idea and tool, but it does have some drawbacks. You need to work it in, to loosen the bearings which doesn't take long and after setting the angle it sticks, so you have to give a bit of a twist which is not always successful. I have also found it would work better with 2 depth stops, it helps stop over twisting as you plunge I just used a zip tie on the one side without its stop and it works much better.Overall it's a great tool well worth the money and I would buy it again but it could do with some tweaking to make it an awesome tool. As usual Rutlands has brought a useful bit of kit to its end user, thankyou very much.

Never thought I would use a tool that

Never thought I would use a tool that I used to see my grandad use when I was a kid where peoples carpentry skill was much more commonly used but yes I have had to build a few jigs for a recent kitchen installation job and a pillar drill would not get in. I was skeptical as most tools now use low quality materials plastic or they are so flimsy that the accuracy makes the tool useless but this tool is of high quality and is accurate. I also bought the door handle jig which was twice the price of an identical one from Amazon but it was metal and durable whereas the Amazon jig broke after two jobs because it was plastic. Buy from this company and you will have a tool for life. now I sound like my grandad
