The aluminium sleeves can move freely around the shank which allows you to hold the bit holder close to the bit for ultimate control.

The shaft also has 1/4" hex shank and is designed to fit all standard keyed or keyless chucks as well as quick release bit holders. Precision engineered from machined aluminium and steel these bit holders will prove invaluable when working in confined or hard to reach areas. Decent drive extension, great on discount but magnet susceptible to damage

The damage I incurred was due to my own carelessness by linking two of these together along with a 90-degree drive in order to reach a stupidly inaccessible screw the location of which I'd not planned for, but when I'd linked long-to-medium-to-90-degree-driver, something slipped, that silly connection missed and the slippage ended up shattering the magnet on the medium-sized of these. Although still vaguely a ring and the magnet still grabs the bit, the cosmetics are shot. But it was ME that caused this - it was silly to link my driver-to-long-bit-to-medium-bit-to-90-degree-bit-to-screw and still expect this contraption to hold together. But I was tired and frustrated fixing an error of measurement I'd made earlier in the day. While attempting this mess, trying to reach a spot in my build that I'd not correctly planned for, one part of this silly linked sequence slipped and was subjected to undue stress, the 2nd/medium-sized link slipped and it hit the magnet hard. It's still intact, it still holds a bit, but it's not as pretty as it was. Even if you cut everything correctly (which later I discovered I hadn't :-/) I accuse myself of not planning correctly how to construct the final item, hence the 'need' for the barmy chain of connectors.

This kit is worth it, especially on discount. But treat it nicely and don't try silly leaps-of-faith like I did. The magnets are not invincible.

No complaints; my fault.
