This six piece scraper set features both curved and straight surfaces which offers the ability to scrape every imaginable profile. Gooseneck and concave convex scrapers handle curves and contours with ease regardless of radius and a bevelled end scraper ensures a flawless finish to chamfered and angle work.

The high carbon steel scrapers will take and hold a sharp edge for fine scraping work and the three thicknesses of straight scraper will handle everything from finishing work to heavy duty removal. This set comprises: 0.6mm, 0.8mm and 1mm thick 63mm x 150mm rectangular scrapers, a gooseneck scraper, a 51mm x 150mm concave convex scraper with a 38mm radius and a 22.5º 114mm x 63mm bevelled end scraper. ©

An underrated tool

The cabinet scraper is a tool that I came to late on. In my youth I foolishly thought it was just a bit of shaped metal, nothing special, and if I wanted one, some old scrap of steel would probably do the job. How wrong I was. There are specific places when finishing wood where a plane can't go, and a chisel is too aggressive. This set of scrapers has all the contours I will need for finishing carvings and wooden signs, and is an invaluable addition to my toolchest. The price is reasonable, but when looking at quality the price becomes less relevant, if a professional finish is your priority. My advice would be this. If you don't yet have a set of scrapers in your workshop, for a very minimal outlay you can get yourself a very useful tool.
