The Rutlands® cyclone dust collector uses centrifugal force to separate and remove over 99% of dust and debris from the air stream before it reaches your vacuum's filter. This keeps your vacuum's filter clean and eliminates suction loss, ensuring a strong and constant vacuum flow. The cyclone will save time and money by replacing your vacuum bags and filters up to 20 times less often, enabling you to work harder, longer and safer than ever. The anti-static cyclone prevents dust or debris sticking to its surface, allowing for all the dust to be passed into the large 30 litre capacity drum. Both the cyclone and drum are made from cold rolled carbon steel, with a wall thickness of 1.2mm for improved longevity and unlike its plastic counterparts, the drum will not implode if a hose becomes blocked.

The unique centrifugal design offers up to twice the airflow of smaller cyclones and lid style separators and there are no moving parts or consumables that require replacement. The drum features two handles for manoeuvrability and ease of emptying and has three all-steel spring loaded clasps to ensure an air-tight fit with the cyclone. Perfectly balanced to prevent toppling, the Rutlands® cyclone dust collector weighs 9kg, has a drum width of 350mm, drum depth of 430mm and an overall height of 850mm. Designed for use with shop and household vacuums, with hoses up to 52mm in diameter, the ports have a 48mm inside diameter and a 50mm outside diameter. Directly compatible with the Rutlands® R8546 Dust Hose and Connector Kit. Three optional tapered adaptors allow for connection to 32mm, 35mm and 38mm dust hoses. ©

purchased on a daily price drop offer; I have so far only used it attached to a Numatic vacuum and not my workshop dust extractor, but have been impressed with the abilities of the cyclone to pull out debris and dust from my mitre saw, that would have clogged the vacuum bag and filter in short order.
It is compact, lightweight and easy to handle.
On assembly, I did find some deformation of the drum body, worst around the lip; but the steel gauge is thin enough that it could be reshaped into round, by hand.
I also bonded the sealing strip onto the drum edge.
Additionally, the drum is a good fit for lining with heavy-duty rubble bags.

Sturdy

Having used a plastic cyclone for several years, this steel version feels really stout. One benefit is that, unlike lighter plastic cyclones this isn't puled over when your extractor starts up.

Top notch

My plastic drum started collapsing after changing the vacuum. I saw this come up on a notification from Rutlands just at the right time and bought it. It is sturdy and very strong, exactly what I wanted, comes assembled and I am very pleased. Well done Rutlands for providing quality equipment.

I am very impressed with the performance of

I am very impressed with the performance of my new cyclone. The drum is collected virtually all of the dust and debris and hardly any is going through to my vacuum. Very clever concept and is going to save me buying expensive paper collection bags.

I have coupled my cyclone to my Festool

I have coupled my cyclone to my Festool Midi extractor and it works a treat. I do a lot of second fix work and frequently have to vacuum dust, plaster and general waste at the end of the day, which would normally fill a dust bag. Its going to save me a fortune on dust bags a nearly 8.00 each
