Replacement self-adhesive rubber splinter guard for plunge saw guide rails. Fits to the bottom edge of the guide rail, applying downward pressure onto the material to minimise tearout and ensure a clean, splinter-free cut.
Once trimmed to the blade kerf on first use, the splinter guard indicates the exact cutting edge, allowing the guide rail to be positioned precisely at the scribe mark. Supplied 1.4m in length, 21mm in width and can be cut to size. ©

Quick delivery, item as described
Excellent guards at the correct length and they stick properly! Super happy! No more messing around with other nonsense brands that overcharge for splinter guards that don't stick or that shatter upon first cut. These are the answer.

Awesome replacement and super easy to fit.
I was pleased to find a sensibly priced replacement guide strip, although the postage does reduce some of that value.
Unfortunately, my experience with the product itself was disappointing. The strip was wound so tightly for packaging that I struggled to get it to lie flat. I tried leaving it weighted down overnight and even applying gentle heat, but it still wanted to curl back up at the ends.
When I made the first cut, the ends lifted away from the rail, collected sawdust and then refused to adhere properly again. In the end, I had to use superglue to secure it just so I could continue with my project.
This was particularly frustrating as I'm currently under pressure to complete a campervan conversion before an upcoming trip, and I hadn't expected a simple replacement consumable to create so much additional work.
I've always been impressed with Rutlands products and service in the past, which makes this experience all the more surprising. Hopefully this is something that can be reviewed, as the packaging method may be affecting the performance of an otherwise good product.
