This is an exceptional mitre gauge, complete with a precision mitre fence and precision flip stop. It has become recognised by leading woodworkers worldwide as the go to mitre gauge for saw benches and router tables. The mitre bar is manufactured from hardened anodised aluminium, measuring 18.5mm wide x 9.5mm deep x 450mm long and features a series of 4 expansion discs to ensure zero side play and friction-free travel. By adjusting the expansion discs with the simple turn of an allen key the bar will give a no-play fit in table saw and router table mitre gauge channels ranging from 18.5 to 19.9mm in width. In addition, a 23.5mm removable steel disc at the end of the bar allows for a no-play fit in industry standard 19mm T track.

The mitre gauge is made from 4mm thick steel plate that is attached to the fence with a 5mm thick machined aluminium casting. Underneath the plate is a phenolic sub plate designed to prevent the scratching or marking of the machine bed. The steel plate has 27 precision machined V stops at 5° increments and features special stops at plus or minus 22.5°. The plate is laser graduated in 1° increments through the range of plus or minus 60°. The V shaped steel cursor seats perfectly in the mitre gauge V grooves and locks off with a brass knurled knob eliminating any play.

The aluminium casting that holds the fence in position features two micro adjustment screws to further calibrate the gauge if required to ensure the fence is true.

The fence is manufactured from an aluminium extrusion that is ribbed on the face to prevent wood from slipping and measures 450mm x 80mm deep. On top of the fence is a steel scale with permanently etched 1mm graduations running from 0 to 440mm. The flip stop glides back and forth in the industry standard 19mm T track slot and has a clearly visible pointer which can be adjusted using the two brass knurl screws. The flip stop arm is 100mm in length and there is no play even when heavy load is exerted, ensuring for precise, repetitive cuts every time.

So in summary this is an extremely precise, beautifully engineered mitre gauge complete with fence and flip stop that would be either an excellent upgrade to any existing table saw or as a precision mitre gauge for use on a purpose made router table. ©

Beautifully made

This has a pleasing weight and solidity to it. It's well engineered and fits nicely into the table saw tracks once you have adjusted it to ensure there is minimal unwanted side-to-side movement. Very happy with this purchase, it exudes quality. I'm even more delighted that I managed to get this in one of Rutlands on sale to midnight promotions.

What a beautifully designed and made piece of kit

I was so impressed with the mitre gauge when it arrived. It is so well designed and crafted it is almost a piece of art. Everything about it is well considered and it is also great to the touch. I am looking forward to using it to make my woodworking even better

Excellent

I purchased this on an offer and am extremley impressed with the build quality. It is very easy to set up and gives me great consistant results on my table saw and router. I have also used it on a worksaw with equally consistant results. The flip stop is easy to callibrate as is any fine adjustment to the fence. It is exactly as described and what I have come to expect as a standard from Rutlands.

Mitre gauge

This is a well made and solid piece of kit. Used with a dewalt table saw it performs well and enables you to get precise and repeatable cuts. It’s a pretty essential thing to have with a table saw and I can’t see anything on the market that is better than this at the price.

Good innovation.

Product is well designed innovative product. Manufacture quality is highest. The only thing that i may criticize is that, altough every 5 degree locking system is wonderful, it is hard to read other degree values. Degree lines would collide edge to edge during fine tunning or a simple stick component may be useful. Another solution would be adding 1 to 4 degree trapeizodal section plates in front of the fence. Locking for every 5 degrees and every other degrees is very strong. I highly offer this product who looks for industrial degree mirte gauge and fence. Thanks for all, cost is also higly good.
