Drill Guide with Auto Alignment - 465mm Drill Depth

The Rutlands® large capacity drill guide with auto alignment provides rock-solid stability for long hole drilling up to 465mm deep, ideal for use with auger bits up to 26mm in diameter. A central guide block rotates to match the drill bit diameter, keeping the bit perfectly aligned for precise, straight holes and preventing bent or broken bits. 

Placing its pivot point on the surface of the material, the drill guide maintains the same entry point throughout its full 60° angle range. This auto alignment feature drastically reduces setup time, allowing you to quickly position the guide against layout lines on your workpiece, reassured that whatever the angle, the drill bit will always enter at exactly the same point.

The precision machined aluminium headstock runs on two 35mm long linear bearing races, providing ultra-smooth, controlled travel, free from lateral play. The three jaw 13mm chuck features two specially selected high speed bearings, ensuring repeated accuracy and clean, consistently drilled holes. A 9.5mm tri-flat shank provides increased security within a drill chuck and eliminates slipping under heavy load. Either side of the shank is storage for two self-centering pins which screw into the base, allowing the guide to self-centre over the edge of a board. Providing 365mm of chuck travel, the steel guide posts feature dual depth stop collars, allowing one to be used to support the headstock during bit changes without losing the current depth setting.

The 240mm x 160mm, 20mm thick base features an auxiliary footplate, which when mounted, allows you to plant your weight firmly onto the guide for steadfast support whilst drilling. When edge drilling, the auxiliary clamps will secure the guide to stock up to 190mm in width. Reference points around the base opening allow quick positioning against pre-drawn layout lines, whilst V-grooves above the base facilitate the drilling of round stock such as dowels or table legs. Both sides of the base feature clear, easy to read angle graduations, including a reference mark at 22.5°. ©
