Brushless Cordless 40V Plunge Saw with Crosscut Sled

The Rutlands® plunge saw with crosscut sled transforms the plunge saw into a portable crosscut station, delivering fast, accurate and repeatable results without the need to measure, mark or align a guide rail every time. Featuring an adjustable 45° fence, integrated stop and a crosscut capacity of up to 550mm, the sled ensures precise alignment for both narrow workpieces and larger panels too wide for most mitre saws.

The plunge saw features a high performance 40V brushless motor that maintains consistent power and torque under load. A variable speed range of 2,000 - 5,500rpm allows you to finely control the speed to suit the blade and material, with the current speed level illuminated on the 5 level LED display. A three position blade mode dial allows quick switching between scoring cuts, free plunging and blade change modes. The scoring cut setting locks the depth of cut to 2.5mm, providing a shallow, chip-free preliminary pass on melamine or veneer faced boards. 

Acting as a sacrificial surface, the 25mm thick composite base allows the blade to cut completely through the workpiece, supporting the material beneath the cut line to minimise tear-out. At 20mm thick, the steel rails provide exceptional strength and rigidity, ensuring smooth, precise travel without bending or deflection. Aluminium slider blocks run on dust-shielded linear ball bearings, delivering effortless movement and ensuring the saw follows a perfectly straight, square path throughout the cut.

The fixed aluminium fence provides precise 90° alignment and features an integrated stop for fast, repeatable cutting. A separate adjustable mitre fence allows accurate 45° and angled cuts, whilst a hold-down clamp improves control and ensures consistent, repeatable results. Included are 2 x 20V 4.0Ah batteries and a 4.0A dual port charger. ©
