The new Rutlands® random orbital sander simultaneously rotates the sanding pad and moves it in small 3.0mm orbits. This sanding pattern ensures that no single part of the abrasive travels the same path twice during the same rotation. It leaves no swirl or scratch marks and is not sensitive to the direction of the wood grain, making it ideal when sanding joined wood. The 400W motor has ample power reserves for fast, high stock removal and features constant electronics for consistent speed under load.

Variable speed between 4,000 to 14,000rpm allows for fine sanding and polishing of hard and soft wood, varnish, paint and fillers. The aluminium die casting houses a series of dust-proof ball bearings to ensure minimal levels of vibration and a long service life. A power control system prevents scratching when placing the machine directly onto material at speed. The 150mm hook and loop pad, with a multi hole configuration, works using intake air to transport sanding dust away from the pad surface to prevent clogging and keep the surface at a low temperature.

When coupled with a shop vacuum, this results is class leading dust extraction, for an improved rate of material removal, a better finish and a healthy working environment. Extremely well balanced with a ergonomic rubberised grip for comfort this random orbital sander offers complete control when fine sanding and polishing over large or small areas. Supplied with a cloth dust bag and an extra pairs of brushes. ©

Great Sander

I bought this on offer, it arrived the next day. The sander is the usual Rutlands very good quality. I have used it several times and find it easy to use, very quiet compared to others I have used and very good at what it does. Another Rutlands triumph. I would definitely recommend it to anyone

Very good sander at a very reasonable price

Typical high quality from Rutlands...

Excellent product, at a fantastic price and delivered very quickly. I have used it on a number of projects already and the results are supreme! It is solidly built, feels really robust but, at the same time, not heavy and produces a beautifully smooth finish in no time at all. It's really comfortable to use and extremely quiet. It has speed control as well, which is very useful. By far the best sander I have ever owned or used. Highly recommended.

Great product at a great price

This sander is very solid, with speed control and effective dust removal into the included bag. It’s very comfy to use with minimal vibrations, allowing for long sanding sessions.

The only thing I’d love for Rutlands to offer is a larger foam backer pad to make it even more versatile.

Sturdy & good results

Having an orbital sander is great for many jobs and in this case I use it mostly for fine sanding and polishing. My old sander broke and I had put off replacing it until I found a replacement that would last and perform throughout its lifetime. I ordered this as soon as I saw Rutlands made their own version as I was impressed with the 1/4” router I had previously bought.Much like the router this orbital sander is built well with good materials and performs great too, hopefully it will continue to perform! I used the sander with ceramic discs and found the results were good.
