FULL DESCRIPTION
TCT Router Bits
Each router bit features diamond ground, micro-grain tungsten carbide tipped blades. This tighter micro-grain structure means the blades offer long lasting hardness and superior edge retention. The body of each bit has been turned and then milled with uncompromising precision from a single piece of 4140 high tensile steel to give perfect balance for reduced vibration and therefore smoother cuts. 4140 steel has been chosen because of its toughness, high fatigue strength, and abrasion and impact resistance. The tungsten carbide tips are then brazed onto the bodies using induction to create an extremely strong joint that safely holds under the high stresses that occur when routing. The router bits are suitable for use on softwoods, hardwoods, veneers, laminates and composite materials.

Tongue & Groove Edge Banding Bits
This 2 piece edge banding TCT router bit set allows you to hide unsightly edges on your plywood and MDF projects by creating a precise tongue and groove profile using the matched male and female router bits. Featuring a 120° angle with an interlocking tongue and groove to create a larger surface area for glue application giving you long lasting edges on your panels and shelves. Simply centre the male router bit on the stock and make the cut, then match up the female router bit with the centre point of your first cut. Finish your edge banding with your choice of solid wood, gluing together the two pieces. Minimum stock thickness for these bits is 12.7mm and the maximum thickness is 25.4mm. Shanks are 1/4".

Superior Finish and Performance
The shearing angle of the cutting edges ensure they remain in constant contact with the workpiece to allow a smoother, slicing cut which eliminates tear-out and gives a mirror finish. The bits feature right hook angles which further enhances the cut due to the fast removal of chips. These bits feature an anti-kickback design which limits the feed rate of the material being cut to decrease the likelihood of a kickback, meaning each bit conforms to strict German DIN standards to ensure maximum operator safety. ©

A critical cutter set for cabinet work

So, you're working with large amounts of either plywood or MDF, you've tried different ways of facing the edges of boards and fed up of the hassle, finish, etc? This is the cutter set for you! The cutters use a 1/4" shank which is fine for router table setups, but don't use these on hand held routers alone as the inertia will grab, also the bearing guide is only a datum reference to a fence, not the material because the bearing is at the end of both cutters. I've used different methods of machining and edge prep for MDF and Plywoods and this beats anything I've used before. For me, what I love about these cutters is the ability for me to feel whether the cutters are balanced to the centre of the workpiece thickness, these will handle up to 25mm thickness, but when you're working with 18mm mdf / ply, just simply check that the top and bottom of the cutter you're using balance or reference the cutter's centre height to the centre thickness, less half thickness of the cutter for producing the groove on the panel. A good tip with these cutters is, if you're producing a large amount of panels with edging, prepare your edging stock and mill this first, then mill the boards with the groove to accept the new edging. Another useful tip is using a trim router and a piece of scrap wood and a bit of double sided tape if your base has the room for it, use a straight cutter about 1/2" and ensure that the cutter is about a piece of paper's thickness above the mdf or plywood surface.

Well packaged & presented

Well packaged & presented, and most importantly, with me the next day. As for the results, I'm very pleased so far & have managed to find profiles not offered by other suppliers. Will no doubt be back for more.

Thoroughly impressed

Cheap bits tend to tear the wood & blunt quickly. These on the other hand have kept an ultra sharp edge & given me a beautifully clean cut - no burn marks & very little sanding required, if any at all. Thoroughly impressed.

Rutlands - my go to place for router bits

Tried many brands over the years, but happy to say I now won't go anywhere else for router bits. I've thrown everything at them, including the hardest walnut and ash, and they continue to impress with the quality of finish left behind. If you're serious about routing then investing in quality bits is a must.
