Bevel Edge Chisels - Set of 6

These Rutlands® bevel edge chisels feature chrome vanadium steel blades, hardened to HRC 60-62 through 75% of the blade, offering a perfect balance between edge retention and high impact strength. Perfect for mallet use, these chisels will withstand the demands of chopping out, holding a sharp edge whilst resisting chipping. Supplied ready to use with factory-sharpened 25° bevels, the steel remains easy enough to sharpen using standard water stones, oil stones or diamond stones. Each blade is fully polished, providing both corrosion resistance and reduced friction, for effortless paring and cleaner, more accurate joints.

This set of 6 contains 6, 10, 12, 16, 20 & 25mm blade widths, with each blade 100mm in length and with blade and tang forged from a single piece of steel, seated deeply into the handles for strength and durability. The handles are crafted from a carefully selected and seasoned straight-grain ash, highly shock absorbent and exceptionally durable to withstand heavy mallet blows. A steel hoop on the end of each handle further reinforces the wood grain, for split-proof performance when chopping out mortises or clearing deep waste. Flat faces on the top and bottom of the handles ensure the chisels stay put when placed down and won’t roll off workbenches.

The chisels are beautifully presented in a wooden storage box, held within wooden inserts and supplied with protective edge guards. ©
