Router Inlay Kit

The Rutlands® router inlay kit simplifies the creation of crisp, perfectly fitting inlays, ideal for decoration or repair work. Making use of the same template for both the mortice and inlay, the kit is quick and easy to use, delivering professional results with minimal setup.

The brass guide bush is installed in the router’s base, and the supplied centering pin insures precise alignment for accurate, repeatable results. To route the mortice, simply attach the collar to the guide bush and follow the template. To route the inlay, remove the collar and use the same template on the inlay workpiece. The offset provided by the collar is equal to the width of the bit, providing a perfectly matched inlay for the mortice. 

The supplied solid carbide spiral down cut bit has been selected to provide the finest top surface finish, pushing chips down and away from the router to eliminate splintering and tearout. The brass guide bush is designed around the industry standard, with a threaded bushing and nut. Some routers accept these bushes natively, however for those that don't, either a guide bush adaptor or universal sub base is required. ©
